I recently visited Mezzaluna in Vila do Conde with my family, expecting an evening of delightful cuisine and welcoming service. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the unprofessional behavior we encountered. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. The staff member who greeted us at the door lacked the warm, hospitable demeanor one would anticipate at such an establishment. This initial impression set a tone for the rest of the evening. As we were seated and began to peruse the menu, the waiter assigned to our table approached us with what can only be described as an air of arrogance. His interactions were curt, and his responses to our inquiries and requests were delivered in a condescending manner. It was as if our presence was an inconvenience to him. The distressing service could have been overlooked had the food compensated for it. Regrettably, this was not the case. To our dismay, the dishes we received were not up to par. My dish, in particular, seemed to have been prepared with a lack of care, and to add to the disappointment, there was a foreign object in my food. It is with a heavy heart that I write this review, as I believe every dining experience should be enjoyable and every customer deserves respect. I hope this feedback serves as a constructive critique, prompting Mezzaluna to reflect on the importance of customer service and the quality of...
Read moreIt is not childfriendly cafe. At first they said that strollers were not allowed inside, that there was no room for them. At the same time, the hall was almost empty. Then they said that they had a “no strollers allowed” rule. OK. We put the stroller in the car cradle. We were asked to place the child on the floor next to our feet, almost under the table. About the food. The cafe claims to be Italian, but only in name. The dishes are far from Italian cuisine. But they weren’t bad in themselves, but there was no “wow”...
Read moreClassy restaurant with elevated style. The service was excellent and the decoration shows historic photographs of the town. The food was delicious and the music in the background not too loud. I liked, that even pilgrims in typical hiking clothes were treated with the same respect, as a guest in a suit. The big TV screen on the wall with a soccer game on (muted), was also a clear signal that the house rules can't be overly strict. The procedure of selecting a wine, opening and tasting was also very...
