Cuca — Restaurant in Vila Real de Santo António

This is advertised as a seafood restaurant. I was excited to try the restaurant out. However, the restaurant was cramped, with a poor ambiance. The lady who was also the cook, was cradling her infant baby to sleep, in between juggling kitchen work. Another of her daughters was mingling in the restaurant as though it was their home.

I had ordered a grilled fish plate and shrimp kebab. The shrimp kebab was served first, and it was skewed with pork sausage. This was supposedly a seafood restaurant. I told the owner I can't consume this plate, and requested him to change it. He was very arrogant despite his old age and refused to compromise. I, then told him to cancel the order.

There's nothing special...

Small restaurant in an area with lots of others, we entered a bit by chance, following a short and heavy rain. Specialty is fish, fresh from the day, perfectly cooked and delicious. Nothing fancy, just ultra fresh and well prepared. Children could survive thanks to meat and French fries. Dessert are all home made, displayed and with a nice choice. I would recommend this place...

Nice food nice service, nice atmosphere. As you can see in the picture the fish is really fresh. We had the anchovies, delicious. Also codfish omelette. We came at 11.50 and the waiter kindly told us to come back after 10 minutes. But eventually he served us a beer and the 10 minutes went flying.
