Originally, my friend and I wanted to order the Tourist Menue for 15€ per Person, then the waitress convinced us not to order it, because she said, that there are better options which were not included in the tourist menue. She didnt seem to understand english that well. The starter Soups (Chicken and Lenthil ) were fine, but the naan bread was burned on the bottom side. They didnt seem to care when he said that. But then we ordered the main dishes, I got Alo (potato-dish), my friend ordered something with Lambmeat. They let us wait one hour before we got our food, but still we stayed and were disappointed. In the meantime some guests came after us and they were served before us. Nethertheless, I got heavily fatty potatoes and there werent even many pieces, that you could count them. My friend got in his dish just 2 PIECES of lamb meat and the portions are just ridiculously small, that it was like standing in a line for poor people getting a small portion of food, so that you are not starving. The restaurant is next to a cafee where locals gather together and you hear everything they do, and they are really loud. The restaurant has not the best location and not the best food. All in all I would never come back. Instead of paying 30€ for everything we payed 45€. For us the pricing is just insolent for the...
Read moreMy husband and I ate here tonight after seeing high reviews and also having passed it while walking in town.
The owners are really sweet and helpful, particularly with good recommendations on the menu.
My husband had the Chicken Tandoori and I had the Chicken Chili Masala, both were excellent. We also had samosas, which were so good, as well as garlic naan bread.
My husband has asthma and I am super sensitive to cigarette smoke, so we went inside…however, we almost walked back out again. A common and unfortunate aspect of restaurants in Portugal is that so many people smoke. As non-smokers, we do not get to enjoy outdoor patios…ever. With open doors, the smell of tobacco filters directly inside, sometimes smelling worse than the outdoors seating. It is a huge frustration for me eating out here.
The owner was kind enough to suggest that she could close the door and it really made the difference between a pleasant meal and an otherwise smoke-filled evening.
Delicious food, pleasant staff…agree with another comment…the plastic flowers could be replaced with fresh ones or just a candle on each table.
Thank you so...
Read moreMy friend and I ate here 22nd May 2021. We travel to coastal towns at weekends and love trying the restaurants. We tried the other Indian in Monte Gordo the previous weekend. I have to say, we both thought this one was better. As with the previous weekend starters, Tikka, Onions Bhaji and Samosas, we find all of them quite mild compared to what we are used to in other places, so we have concluded they are adapted for the local market. However, the Tikka here did have more flavour as did all the starters. The Madras curry, was very good indeed, the Nam breads were pliable, crispy on the outside soft on the inside. They made me a paratha which was very tasty and well made. The house wine was good and reasonably priced. The service was excellent, very friendly and cheerful. The restaurant has outside seating which is good as we have dogs that often travel with us. Would recommend a visit. Now in 2023 this is my go to place for a...
