Pizzaria Honorato's — Restaurant in Vila Real de Santo António

Honorato's in VRSA my personal experience:- Our 36 wedding anniversary had booked a table here, by personal visit, for 18 people, all had been confirmed. Deposit offered and told not needed, not surprised at this as we have been there before know some of the waiters etc..... We arrived at our given time all 18 of us, no table, they just did not care. Somebody even said you did not turn up yesterday, I said "no reservation was for tonight and do not say that as we walked our dogs here last night and you said good evening to us...." Just looking for excuses they really did not care that 18 people were outside their restaurant ...... I was not happy, I went in and asked for the complaints book, they just walked away from me. Luckily one of the members of my party was GNR and another one knew the absent owner. Well when the GNR friend got involved things did change, immediately, the complaints book appeared and excuses started to flow again, all unfounded and shot down one after the other. The owner was now on the mobile with his friend apologising for the terrible staff he had there....... At no stage were we offered any type of apology or even given a drink and asked to wait until a table became available.....NOTHING they just did not care. Complaints book completed waiting to see what happens there now, and we went to another local Italian that made us feel really welcome, accommodated us saying we might need to wait a while but jugs of Sangria appeared....had a really great evening at Bella Napoli, but Honorato's is a place I am NEVER going back to, they have my mobile number so they can contact me if they want to try to rectify this disgusting attitude and service.....guess what no contact, no apology, nothing......... First time I have been disappointed in Portugal. We asked for a "couvert completo" for two, which includes bread, butter, olives, sardine pate, and cheese. As the latter two didn't come, we asked why. Seems they ran out of pate and cheese. So why didn't you just mention it when serving? Besides that, we had to wait for over 45 minutes to get our main course. For two portions of grilled fish with some salad and cooked potatoes? Really? At least two tables were served before we were. Granted, they ordered a mix of salads, pizzas, and grilled fish. But even so. I don't mind waiting if service is professional and courteous, even in small places far from city centers. But this is a main touristic place that is heavily frequented. Lack of organisation? My hope that all this would have been compensated by the quality of the food, was in vain. Absolutely the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. We waited for over two hours to be served, and when the pizzas finally arrived, they were awful — bland, poorly cooked, and nothing like what you’d expect from a pizzeria. The waiters seemed lost, slow, and indifferent, with no sense of urgency or organisation.

The atmosphere quickly went from hopeful to frustrating, and by the end, we just wanted to leave. I would never return and cannot recommend this...
