MRA Bakery & Restaurant — Restaurant in Doha

I recently had the opportunity to visit MRA Bakery and Restaurant in Doha with high hopes of enjoying a satisfying Indian meal. Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired, particularly in regards to the mutton biryani I ordered.

First and foremost, the most glaring issue was the temperature of the food. The biryani was served cold, which immediately raised concerns about its freshness and overall quality. A dish as delicate and flavorful as biryani requires careful preparation and prompt serving to ensure an enjoyable dining experience. Sadly, this was not the case at MRA.

To make matters worse, when I politely brought up the issue of the cold food to the waiter, I requested for it to be replaced with a fresh and hot serving. However, instead of addressing the matter professionally, the waiter decided to take matters into his own hands. Rather than preparing a new dish, he simply reheated the previously served biryani in the microwave, attempting to manipulate me into accepting the subpar quality.

Furthermore, the quality of the meat in the biryani was highly disappointing. It was evident that the mutton was not well cooked, as it was tough and lacked the tenderness that is expected from a well-prepared biryani. This compromised the overall taste and texture of the dish, leaving me dissatisfied and questioning the level of culinary expertise at MRA.

In addition to the issues with the biryani, the overall experience at MRA Bakery and Restaurant was underwhelming. The ambiance was mediocre, and the service was lackluster. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, which further added to my disappointment.

As an enthusiast of Indian cuisine, I have had the pleasure of savoring authentic and delicious biryanis from various establishments. Unfortunately, MRA Bakery and Restaurant did not live up to the standards I have come to expect. Very bad experience...Ordered Honey cake in morning around 11 30..MRA confirmed to deliver by 1 hour. Again reconfirmed and they said will deliver fast. Gave 2 contact numbers and gave full address details As it's a surprise gift didn't follow up. Later once back home around 18.30 discovered cake not delivered. Called up MRA immediately. They apologise and gave excuse that they called the number 15times...But truth is no call received to that number. When asked for other number they said they wrote it wrong. Again said will deliver asap and driver asked location in what's up.. ...Why same driver didn't msg in what's up morning is still a question which they dont have answer...Security also confirmed no delivery came as my villa is next to their gate ..Now 20.20 Still waiting for my Cake....Very bad customer service..Never will order again...Trying for surprise became a disaster ..

20.30 called them back and left home so that atleast dinner wont be spoiled...Thanks for making my day....20.50 received a msg from driver I am coming in 8min..Dont know to whom he delivered the cake

I came here specifically for the Samudra Sadya (sea meals) which I have heard a deal about. It’s basically a meal of seafood platter Kerala cuisine. I had a brief wait for my table and the waiter was courteous to lead me to. He also mentioned it would take 20mins to serve that special dish which was perfectly fine be me, best is informing before hand. The spreads arrived beautifully well spread over a metal plate covered with traditional banana leaf. It’s had all ingredients of the sea two types of fish 🐠 , dried anchovies , squid 🦑 crab 🦀, shrimp 🦐 , two fish curries, coconut sambal, potato masala, Sambar, rasam, payasam for desert and Appalam and ofcourse a bowl of white rice. A full fledged meals good for two but king size for one. The price matches the quality and quantity so it’s definite value for money. At end asked for tender coconut pudding which was ok thought nothing special as couldn’t taste the coconut. One more interesting note is their menu is exhaustive with several options at different price range. Spoilt...
