Beijing Garden — Restaurant in Bucharest

Way-overrated sub-average Chinese restaurant.

We visited this place on a Saturday evening and it was pretty crowded but not packed. Reservations are recommended, but skipping this place altogether is even more recommended.

Starting with the AMBIENCE (2/5), the place is lacking any personality. The temperature was very low, there was a lot of noise coming from some fridges, the other guests were rude and kids were running and screaming all over the place.

The SERVICE (2/5) is pretty poor as well, and the waiting times are huge! Took roughly 25 minutes for the drinks alone to be delivered, and roughly 45 minutes after placing the order our waiter came back asking to repeat the order because they dropped the paper into the food and cannot understand it anymore. Really?! Anyway, the main course arrived 1h:3min after we entered the restaurant, and the appetizers arrived another 10 min later. The waiter did apologize, though...

Speaking of the FOOD (3/5) it was pretty tasty and with large portions, but nothing to write home about. We had chicken and pork which were just average. The DRINKS (2/5) are dull and low quality, we had some lemonade and jasmine tea and you could taste the chlorine in the tap water used.

At least the prices are pretty low and this drives the VALUE (3/5) up a little bit. But don't be fooled, this restaurant is cheap and fells cheap. OVERALL rating 2.4 out...

Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Inauthentic Food

I recently visited this restaurant expecting a good Chinese dining experience, but it turned out to be quite disappointing.

The food quality was not authentic and lacked the true flavors of Chinese cuisine. The service was very poor — no one came to take our order for nearly 15 minutes, and I had to go and ask a waiter myself, even though the restaurant was not busy at all.

We ordered several dishes, including soup and a few main courses. The soup was served after the main dishes, and the rest of the food arrived in bits and pieces. I even had to remind the staff multiple times to bring the remaining items I had already ordered. Some dishes only arrived after we had finished eating.

The staff were not courteous or attentive, which made the experience even less enjoyable.

Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. It lacks authentic taste and delivers poor customer service. There are certainly better and more authentic Chinese restaurants in Bucharest worth...

Maybe for some this is a true, authentic Chinese/ Asian experience, but for me it was quite a disappointment 😞.

Food was ok, a bit pricey. Service was somewhat slow.

Went there because a friend recommended it when we were walking in that area.

We went there around 20:00. It was quite full, the Asian young waitress did not speak English, did not understand Romanian.

The cleanliness of the place has a very Chinese vibe . The ceramic tea pot had stains on it like it was not properly cleaned in the las 5 years or so. The table ware had some stains on it.

The taste was not impressive, quite average. And exactly like on Temu or AliExpress, the images on the menu were really impressive but what we got was meh.. Curry rice was just like normal rice with a slight yellowish color.
