Palace Casino — Attraction in Bucharest

Definitely my favourite joint in the world. All the waiting staff and dealers are great fun to play and converse with, and the receptionists and cashiers are very cheerful. Monica/Christina/Christina/Alex/Daniela etc. are super, Diana and Stefania are very sweet, and one is an eye candy. I got to chat with many of them about fun stuff other than the obvious matter and share deeper issues in life. It did have a higher than usual share of funny players on my various visits. Five different players on different occasions told me persistently to tip dealers instead of waiting staff and one player said I was violating dealers' fundamental human rights (I do tip dealers, just usually not when in play and certainly not to satisfy other players, and I don't tip dealers 10 lei); over ten lectured me about Hong Kong history, my national identity and origin and my father's place of birth (where are you really really really from? is such a classic to ask an East Asian), and three felt compelled to dazzle me with their expertise in blackjack through M&M plays. One player said it didn't matter I knew particular dealers since cards would not be better; as someone who once moonlighted as a dealer I like to think dealers are human beings and not card pushers, just as players are not chip pushers. I should thank the last blackjack expert on my last night really; without his M&M play the cards probably would not have aligned in such a way that in two hours I recovered my 27k losses (they had been winnings, but still) and made an additional 28k to make me a winner on each of four consecutive (long...) nights. Before going into details, wanted to note that my friends who accompanied me to this place, had visited another casino in Bucharest and my review also relies on their perspective.

The casino provides two separate arenas: the ground floor with slot machines and free-of-charge access, and the first floor with playing tables (roulette, blackjack, and such) with an entry tax/fee of 50 Lei. note that this is a fee and you do not receive it as a must-use-chips like some other places do. The access is until 8a.m. the next day (if I remember correctly)

Each floor provides a free buffet with snacks and small pastries, as well as free-of-charge bar. The slot machines floor also provides la-carte meals (pay for what you order) but we didn't order and can't review the food.

Service on both floors was very professional and welcoming.

The size of the second floor and the number of playing tables are not high, but we didn't find it too crowded.. note that the blinds may be high and you can ask at reception for the current blinds before paying for playing table access.

On the slot machines floor, there are roulette machines that allow you to play on a local automated roulette or against the live roulette table from the playing tables floor. A screen that shows the live roulette table is available.

To conclude the experience, we enjoyed our time there and although we could not play the blackjack table due to the high blinds, we still enjoyed playing the roulette and the variety of slot machines the place has to offer. The atmosphere was great and we will surely come back for a visit on our next trip...

I came to gamble a bit as a newcomer and one of the ladies who work there took the time to explain everything to me and they took a picture of me (even though they don't usually do that). then I wanted to transfer some Euros so they could give me Romanian LEU but my card was declined over and over again.
