If you want to eat good sushi in Bucharest, this definitely THE place (and it is the closest to what I had in Japan). I’ve been here many times and their sushi never disappointed me. For sushi I would definitely rate Edo 5 stars. I tried several sushi menus and they were all excellent, but my personal favorites are Chef’s Choice and Salmon Mix.
As for the soup, don’t expect the traditional hearty bowl of ramen in the classical meaning of the word, but rather a fusion soup, which is nonetheless very tasty. I order ebi spicy soup almost every time I go there and it is always very good. I would also recommend gyoza and, for desert, Sweet Geisha (it was far better than I expected, and had quite an original taste).
A dish that I would not recommend, though, is oyakodon. My sister ordered it and it was not what oyakodon should be. The rice was too soggy and the taste was quite different from what I tried (many times) in Japan. The katsudon was ok though.
The prices are within middle-upper range, comparable to other Asian restaurants in Bucharest, but I think that for sushi the prices are actually good.
The customer service was always good, the stuff is nice, and the place is easily reachable since it is downtown Bucharest (10-15 minutes walk from the Revolution Square). I also particularly like the interior design of the place, and, during the summer, their terrace with koi fish pond in the middle is a...
Read moreTotally disappointed ! I decided to spend my birthday there, together with my 2 asian friends. I've previously chosen this location for the beautiful garden they promote in their pictures made last year. When I arrived... surprise ! The garden was closed, so we hadn't other option than being asked to seat in a small crowded room with fast food like tables. The waiter asked us to remove my bday cake from the table due to the policy imposed by the japanese wannabe patrons, although it was put in a paper box, without the intention to eat chokolate bday cake with sushi, anyway. And that was not all. After having to go myself after 10 minutes to ask a waiter to pick up our order, we waited for about 20 minutes more until soups arrived. Cant complain much about the taste but my stomach complained a bit after we left. Overall - bad experience, do not recommend. It was the last sushi location not attended by us in bucharest, and ironically, I saw good reviews about it made by a famous local food blogger which I think was paid good money by Edo Garden to make that video. There are way other better locations out there in the city, and even if they display bigger prices they offer way better sushi...
Read moreSo today is the lady's B-day, and we decided to order some nice sushi, from a place where we ate from before. We were super excited, ordered for close to 50E, around 12 o'clock, knowing that it was going to take around 2h (according to the approximation on the website), and planning to eat around 2-2:30. At 3 o'clock the food wasn't here, so we decided to call. Turns out they are opening at 4, and our food will not be here before 5. Welp, it's now 5:25, we still didn't get any food, we didn't have anything to eat yet because we've been waiting for our festive lunch, and all Edo Sushi told us over the phone was: it was your responsibility to check the opening time on the website. Well Gee, thanks, I would've thought you can tell me if you're not open, not let me order a delivery "as soon as possible" at 12, to then tell me THREE HOURS LATER that you open at 4.
Last time we're eating here, we used to love the place. It's not even because of what happened, it's because of their attitude towards what happened. They could've at least been humble about it and try to fix it...
