I was very excited to know Taco Bell has now expanded to Romania.
I was
I avoided Taco Bell when it launched based on the reviews (I believe it was around 2.5 stars in the first 2 weeks), now it's around 4 stars (which after my experience, I believe it has something to do with people who just love names more than food)
Now, the USA version of Taco Bell has alot of options depending on the state (way over 100 items in total, general menu in all states do contain over 50 items, not including desserts and drinks). The Romanian version has around 15 items (some not even authentic, not including desserts and drinks), diverse right ?
The USA value of calories (from the smallest Taco to the largest exlusive food pack) can range from 150 cal to 800 cal The Romanian version says the same, but guess what ladies and gentlemen, the Romanian calories reviews are based on the USA portions, there are even reviews on items which are not even available in Romania (trustworthy is it not ?) therefore, since I did see the American version with my own eyes, comparing the videos on the internet of the normal USA portions compared to the same items in Romania which I did lay eyes upon, dare I say the portions are 3 times smaller, dare I say a taco is lower than 100 cal (and that is VERY generous)
Now let's talk about the eating space, yes, the restaurant has it's own dining area compared to others, but is it beautiful ? Not really. Is it clean ? Definetly not. Is it huge ? No. Is there anything special about it ? Uh, no?
While me and my fiancee were eating (it took about 5 minutes to finish), we were close to the register, and there were CONTINIOUS complaints from customers, either missing items, either some orders were given to other customers, poor employees were confused themselves.
Food quality, hmmm...again, I did not have the USA experience, I actually learned a burrito recipe which I make at home for fun.....mine tastes better to be honest, no boasting intended.
I know this review is HUGE, but I saw someone commenting that this is not a place for cheap people and also fat "shawarma" lovers who eat 5 shawarmas for dinner have no place here, I took offence to that, so let me say in Romanian : "Tu taran cultivat, nu toti suntem anorexici ca tine, oamenii ca mine vor sa manance nu sa guste". 😉
Overall, honestly dissapointed, I was maybe...
Read more11 months ago I gave this place a good review. I liked Taco Bell: both taste and the quick service. I went back, and boy! What an unpleasant experience!
There used to be an alarm token. The customer will receive the token with the order and the thing will start lighting up and beeping to inform the customer the order is ready.
This time, no token. No service. Only two screens available for order. And everybody bunched around the counter waiting to be called with the order.
This time the cheese was too expensive to waste on customers. And part of the few grams of cheese were evenly spread on the paper wrap, ready to go to the garbage can.
So the offer was mostly white bread. Badly cut, as shown in the picture. Compare that with the American made picture of the quesadilla.
Izzy Cheesy in the American made picture on the Romanian Taco Bell site has three layers of cheese. What I have received went into the garbage can too fast to make the picture. It was the wrap, folded in two, not three, one of the folds had cheese, the other half was EMPTY. Nothing. Just white bread wrap.
The shareable boxes are of the cheaper sort. So on the way home they have opened and spilled some of the contents. My advice would be to bring your own Tupperware.
I would go on, but it is more of the same: very low filling, only a little cheese, generously spread on the paper and...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent visit to Taco Bell in AFI Cotroceni left me incredibly dissatisfied. I ordered a Crunchwrap Supreme and a burrito, expecting the standard quality and fullness you associate with this global brand. What I received was shockingly underwhelming.
The Crunchwrap was pathetically thin, practically deflated and the filling was uneven, with barely any of the advertised ingredients. One bite had some lettuce and a smear of cheese, while the next was just tortilla. The burrito? Even worse. It looked like a sad, flat roll-up with hardly any content inside. It was clear that what I received didn’t even come close to the stated values for each ingredient on the menu. Absolutely misleading.
This is not what you expect from a brand that prides itself on bold flavors and generous portions. At these prices, the lack of consistency and quality is unacceptable. For a location in a high-traffic mall like AFI Cotroceni, this was just embarrassing.
Avoid this location unless you’re okay with paying full price for...
