Orthodox — Restaurant in Литейный округ

Used to be a prime bar (2+ years ago) with prime cocktails and unique atmosphere. Well, not anymore - like almost everything else in Russia, the quality starts deteriorating fast soon after the launch .

The cocktails are made with sub-prime alcohol, it is Stolichnaya instead of premium local brands, dirty restroom and floors. Piece of advice to the management: guys, please, stop saving money on AC - one night I walked in with a group of three and the air was so stuffy inside, that we walked out right away.

The place will soon cease to exist and I guess it won't be missed. Too bad though because it had a great potential at the beginning and was my favorite spot for...

Beside excellent drinks, loaded with history, literature and passion, this place promotes a way of living. An easygoing, relaxed and kind way of living. As they write in their lovely menu, one should surround him/her self by positive vibes only, by love and pleasure for the little things life has to offer.

Cocktails are very creative and the cocktail menu, grouping them by famous russian people, is great. Go there if you are looking for Russian "content" (drinks), but not if you are looking for old-style russian atmosphere. The atmosphere is very much "lounge/new".
