Buono — Restaurant in Dorogomilovo District

Such a shame, to begin with this was my second trip to Buono and, once again, I found the hostesses which meet you at the staircase incredibly rude and insulting. Speaking to people as if they are stupid, looking people up and down with a dirty look on your face and very obviously giggling with colleagues whilst you stand there is completely unacceptable for the calibre of restaurant and a staff overhaul is desperately needed at this stage. Once upstairs the food and drinks are very high quality however being sat next to a lamp which flicks on and off with every heavy footstep takes away from the ambiance somewhat. I also find it very bizarre that women very openly have full on photoshoots with professional cameras and flash photography right next to people who simply want to enjoy a quiet drink. The service at Buono is a bit on the slow side by Moscow standards, and the prices are high. However, I've never had any issues with the quality of the food here or the menu variety. You'll find everything you would expect from an Italian / general European restaurant, cooked properly and well-presented.

Great for a special evening out if you're not in a rush - provided you get a seat by the windows. Keep in mind that at quite a few tables the view is heavily obstructed by the various architectural elements adorning the top of the Radisson hotel. If you want to come here for date night with your SO, I would recommend visiting beforehand to book the exact table you want.

Also - the restaurant is child friendly. Always a plus in my book.

Had a dinner here with my daughter couple of nights ago. We were greeted by an unfriendly hostess and led to a table in an isolated and absolutely empty part of the restaurant where we remained alone through the rest of the evening. Our table’s view was blocked by a decorative sculpture outside. We were offered a seating at the bar table along the window with a view but found that inappropriate. There were tables for 4 with a view all empty and it would’ve been nice if we were offered to sit there. We were asked to open the menu on a phone. The food was good but nothing special. My daughter ordered a salad and asked for a dressing on the side - it came drenched in dressing. Will not return or...
