Trattoriya Venetsiya — Restaurant in Tverskoy District

Maybe this is a good place to eat. But it was so so so overcrowded when we came. And that was just the beginning of our problems. They have several places to sit, a small room on the first floor, a courtyard, and a basement floor larger room. There was nobody to seat us, and when we finally asked someone where should we sit he looked around and said to look in the basement room. That was not only nearly full, but also noisy and airless. We opted to eating outside in pretty cold conditions. When we looked at the menu we had some questions. The waitress was clueless, acted as if we were bothering intruders, and generally replied to our questions with vary basic and stupid answers, part of which started with "well I don't know but, probably". Seriously? you work here! It's your job! And that wasn't miscommunication, we were speaking perfect russian with her. Oh and her answers included "well this is an Italian thing, it's just this abracadabra thing". Girl we have been 4 times to Italy, Never had problems understanding an Italian language menu there or what that food was. We know Italian kitchen. There was never anything like this. When we finally ordered something we thought was steak or normal meat, food took forever to arrive. Then when it did... I almost cried. 2 out of 3 meals were exactly what we didn't like (very fatty/veiny meat instead of dry). And we were asking the waitress questions to avoid this!! When we called her in to complain, she just looked at us and said "well what do you want me to do?". Nothing to soothe us. As if it was our fault that the menu mis-described the meal and she answered the questions misleadingly. Well this is Russia, so we couldn't order something else for free as replacement, and the stuff we ordered was already $ so we decided to go hungry and snacked on the bread, my sister's meal and the sides. Even the desert was disappointing.

Overall ruined our night. She could have offered a salad at least. We went hungry and angry. And were remembering our recent 24 h layover meal in Rome, in a restaurant that wasn't even rated that good. The Italian food here didn't even begin to compare. Not that food is bad in Russia or Moscow, but this... Ugh. It's been a year but I still remember/fell all the frustration. Of course I forgot all the minor details. But there was hype over this place. They say its good. We walked here, very tired. Left even more...

Today visit to Venezia, that is normally ok for food quality, was totally spoiled in the end of evening. Booked in advance big table was closed with a credit card completely according to the bill, but then administrator said the 10% tip should be paid in cash. Due to the quality of service the table owner didn't want to leave a tip, but some money in cash was present on a table, and when it was collected by one of guests all of remaining guests were accused of stealing ( !!! ) money from restaurant. Administrator was blocking guests from exit, requested tip and even was not able to explain this in english to english-speaking guest that made the reservation. This restaurant is in the center of Moscow, how can manager not speak English at all?! Finally I paid them additional 1000 rub, even the manager agreed that they don't have any claims to me, just to stop the conflict and let everybody go home. To conclude: Think twice to go there or not Speak all details of your reservation conditions Lasagna...

Хуже ресторана такого ранга с таким безобразным обслуживанием не посещала. Испорченный праздничный вечер для всей компании. Горячего ждали 2 часа, и со слов официанта Виктрории Пучковой (если правильно мне ее назвали), в этом виноваты мы - их посетители, только потому, что спросили о горячем только через 1.20. Оказывается, мы ДОЛЖНЫ были сообщить, что нужно готовить горячее блюдо (ксатит, семгу там не заказывайте, готовить ее не умеют - сухая), хотя при заказе ни одного вопроса о том, как подавать блюда от нее не прозвучало, и мы сидели практически полчаса за пустым столом с оставшейся наполовину заполненной тарелкой салата (из пяти заказанных). Пустые тарелки своевременно не убираются, а если и убирают, то ставят на рядом находящуюся барную стойку, а не сразу уносят из зала. и приходится людям, сидящим около нее, лицезреть на грязную посуду, чашки, стаканы какое-то время. И самое ужасное, что просто выбило из равновесия - обсуждение официанта с администратором практически рядом со мной (в трех метрах) мои слова о долгой подаче блюд. И НИКАКИХ ИЗВИНЕНИЙ С ЕЕ СТОРОНЫ, да особо и администратор не извинялся.Просто поменяли официанта, А потом еще полчаса ожидания горячего блюда. И, ксатит, прежде чем идти в этот ресторан, узнавайте заранее, какие же у них комплименты к Дню рождения. Я своего так и не дожадалась (одни официант говорит - пироженое тирамису, а другой - ничего не положено. Видимо, не заслужила). И еще, летом у них, оказывается, подают только четрный и зеленый чай, других из заявленных в меню нет - НЕ СЕЗОН. а про кофе даже и спрашивать не захотелось. Единственное, что порадовало - горячие салаты, за что...
