Mashaallah, food is really delicious, and the location is great - right near Al Haram, inside the Clock Tower. Unfortunately, I can't praise the service: our waitress didn't speak English, which is no problem - I tried to explain with gestures. But somehow she was annoyed and said she doesn't speak English. Maybe let someone with English knowledge take over our table? I was extremely sad about the situation with the payment. The waitress brought the bill just when we started eating. We gave dollars, and the exchange rate the restaurant has is 350 SAR, while everywhere else is between 370-375 SAR. I said, ok, then we will pay after I exchange my money. The waitress expected me to get up right away and go exchange the miney money. Like, seriously?? I didn't even eat half of my meal. How can you demand the payment, right after you bring the meal in to the table? This is so worst service experience. Very very sad. Very unpleasant. Its not a cheap place, so one expects a decent customer service. We left with a bad mood, and skipped ordering the dessert. I think the manager needs to train the employees 🤔

Hi As regular customers of MADO, we have always appreciated the high standards of service and hospitality in your restaurants worldwide, including in Dubai and China. However, we recently had a disappointing experience at your Makkah branch, which we feel compelled to bring to your attention. During our visit, we ordered tea and, as per our experience in other MADO locations, expected that tea refills would be complimentary after the initial purchase. However, the branch manager informed us otherwise. While we respect different policies in different locations, the manner in which this was handled was highly unprofessional. The manager (Hamdi) was disrespectful, and when we decided to cancel the tea, they refused to refund our money. This experience has left us deeply dissatisfied, and we hope you will address this issue to ensure better customer service at your Makkah branch. We would appreciate your response on how this matter will be handled. Thank you for your time and consideration

This Mado branch is in the clock tower in Makkah Al-Mukarramah near Kabaa. First of all, the restaurant is understaffed. The prices are extraordinarily high as compared to Kuwait. The prices are 2-3 times higher than the ones in Kuwait. We just ordered lentil and mushroom soup along with meat fetayer (almost 10 cm diameter and 5 pieces). Although the taste of the soups and the lahmacun ( the meat fetayer) tasted very delicious, I don’t recommend due to ver high prices. I think it might be the company policy to lower incoming customers. The interior design is good and inside is very spacious and has a relaxing atmosphere. We came for a second time since it is hard to find Turkish style kunafa near masjid Al-Haram. The kunafa costs 79 SAR and one cup of tea costs 24 SAR and lemonade costs 49 SAR. However the taste of kunafa is average. The cheese inside kunafa was hard. It might be not fresh.

I recently had an unfortunate experience at Mado restaurant in Makkah that compelled me to share my thoughts. The incident occurred when my elderly mother, seeking a simple favor for napkins, was met with an unexpected and disappointing response from the staff.

Situated conveniently in front of the women's bathroom, one would expect a level of humanity and cultural understanding. However, the staff insisted on charging an exorbitant 16 SAR for a bottle of water just to allow access to napkins. This, in my opinion, goes against the cultural norms of hospitality in Saudi Arabia, especially in a place as revered as Makkah.

The refusal to provide a basic necessity without placing an order left me with the impression that Mado is more concerned with financial gain than genuine customer satisfaction. The lack of empathy and understanding, particularly towards elderly individuals, was disheartening.

Moreover, this incident was not an isolated one. Coupled with the high cost of items on their menu and reviews indicating a medium quality of food, my overall impression of Mado has been tarnished. As a result, I cannot envision myself returning to this establishment, and I feel compelled to warn others, especially considering the expensive nature of the restaurant and the less-than-stellar quality, as echoed in various reviews.

In conclusion, my experience at Mado was far from satisfactory, leaving me questioning their commitment to customer service and cultural sensitivity. I hope this review serves as a cautionary note for those considering a visit to...

These guys aren’t expecting you to come back. It’s a rip-off and I think they know it.

The quality of the food is the barely better than what’s on the street but 10x more expensive. We had the turkish grill platter and the meat wasn’t very different from the street food, and the mix mini fatayer, which I am certain I could make better myself despite never having it before. Saying that the service was lousy is an understatement. Our dishes came separately and the grill platter was cold, I’m almost certain it had been sitting there before we got there. The second dish took forever to get there, our drinks came very late, and we had to wait almost 30 minutes for the bill, which was the only time the waiter seemed at all attentive.

Don’t let them fool you, they look nice from the outside but that’s just to reel you in, try to justify the ridiculous prices, and then trick you into paying way more than you should for mediocre food and horrible service. They know most of their patrons are here for Umrah/Hajj, in fact they count on it.

And they definitely aren’t understaffed. I have been to and personally know management at similar restaurants who serve twice as many people with half the staff.

The one thing I will mention to be fair is that we went after Isha on a Saturday, so they were likely busier than usual, but like I said, they had more than enough staff. The staff was either undertrained or didn’t care enough to provide the kind of experience you pay for at such...

There is a waiter named Omran Khan who was rude, unprofessional and arrogant.

He treated us in way showing disrespect. He brought the ice cream before the coffee and it was melted! I asked for plate for my wife. He replied that one plate is enough!!!!!

I tried to be patient with him. However, when I asked for the invoice he delayed us for some time. Also, there were other customers who asked for the invoices after us who paid it!!! When I paid the invoice with cash, he delayed us again and carried the change around and served other customers. When I asked he for the change, he replied that he is not serving me alone and there are other customers to be served in tone showing disrespect!!! Even though the change box was underneath the plate that he is carrying?!?!

I told him that he is delaying us, he turned around and left!!!

I asked for the manager. Managers hamdi and Mohammad came and the situation was explained to them. When I was speaking with the managers, the waiter came and started to shout in front of his managers that I don’t have the right and that I am not polite!!! That show that he doesn’t have respect to his seniors and customers!!

Unfortunately, this is the worse encounter in Mado!!
