Overall the experience is so-so

Speed of food: Taking long time to prepare bibimbap, which not supposed to happen, especially when it’s in a restaurant settings with all ingredients prepared and all needed is to plate it. 2 of us ordered 2 bibimbap (this was ordered first) while another 2 ordered malatang. The malatang FINISHED then only the bibimbap came. This is the speed for only 1 table (which is the 4 of us) in the shop.

Food quality: The bibimbap is bland, overcooked, nothing like or near to what bibimbap is supposed to be. It is just veggies and meat plated. One of us can’t take the blandness of the rice and asked for soy sauce, the staff repeated our request of soy sauce yet he brought black vinegar.. the smell of the vinegar was so pungent but somehow he didn’t notice it.. The malatang is not spicy at all (in fact it’s bland) except just being salty

Drinks: Confusing explanation from the staff. The ingredients are literally being purchased in front of us after we placed our order, to make it.

Extra info: a family of Filipino came into the shop just a few minutes after us, said they were here 2 months ago for hotpot and still not available until now.. the family left without getting anything

Value: maybe not worth it, for now. Let the shop be more prepared then we will consider to return

You will not notice Chili house as it is tuck in a quiet area next to building with an on- going construction work BUT I got to tell you that this place is a hidden gem! I first came to their steps to grab a bubble tea (months back) and its really good- not too sweet and you can actually taste the tea, reasonably priced too. Then last Saturday, we went to Suleimanya to scout a place to eat and I remembered Chili house. I gotta say- made the right choice of dining there. Ordered the Ma-lang menu (hotpot) and it is massive. We are 4 and were not able to finish the serving. The broth is tasty and the tahini- peanut like chili condiment made it tastier. The mala tang here is absolutely amazing! The ingredients are super fresh, with a wide variety to choose from—vegetables, meats, seafood, and more.
