We booked our table for 5pm... We knew the restaurant had Ramadan hours which was fine. We sat down and ordered our drinks at 5:30pm water bottles were put on the table. We chatted for a while and asked if someones going to take our order. 6pm someone came took the order and I told the server please don't bring everything out together. We'd like our starter appietisers first then mains. I then realised why our drinks hadn't come because its Ramadan. At this stage the restaurant was full of people wait for Iftar.... I then told the server please don't bring our order until after Iftar & when everyones eating.... Another server came at 6:30pm with All of our Food altogether 😏 I asked him to take our mains away and to bring our drinks... There were a few guys who had Trainee on the back of their shirts. They were more helpful than the guys in white shirts.. We later tried to order more drinks but there was no server to be seen for ages.. When suddenly a guy in green top came i asked him he said I'll get someone to take the order. I told him to take it, and so he did. His name was Babu he was so helpful he bought our drinks straight away and the rest of the evening he looked after us. The only thing I'd like to say to management is please don't take bookings till 6pm. I recommend this place we had a lovely time & the food was...
Read moreWe went to Mizo Eatery (Riyadh) for a family occasion. It was a disappointing experience.
In regards to the food, the margarita pizza looked and tasted like frozen pizza. The Burrata cheese in the salad was not even thawed out yet. The center of the cheese was icy. We ordered 3 different pastas and left them eaten after tasting the first couple of bites. The ground beef in the bolognese and lasagna was very low quality meat.
In regards to the service, our waiter was ok, but there were almost 5 or 6 waiters and kitchen staff hovering around the juice bar upstairs either talking in a group or staring at the customers. Meanwhile, we received our main dishes around 10 min apart.
In regards to the atmosphere, the decor was nice in general , but the ceilings were low, the walls were wood and brick, and there were no windows which gives off a claustrophobic feeling.
We spoke with the manager to share our feedback about the food and late dishes. He apologized, and kindly offered us free coffee which we declined. Then he subtracted around 35 riyals off our almost...
Read morePlace is closing soon and it shows. Although the greeter and manager were good, the wait staff took way too long for everything. And we were the only ones in the restaurant. And true to form, food never comes out at the right time. The 2 people in our party ordered two items and they couldn’t get them out at the same time. It also took the manager to translate a request to bring the appetizer before the main entrees. I am not sure why this is such a persistent problem when ordering food in Saudi restaurants. Also, I find Mizo pricey, so hopefully they change some things when they reopen in another location. I went there when I lived in the area temporarily upon arriving in Saudi 3 years ago. I hadn’t gone back until last week. I don’t feel like I missed much.
Not related to Mizo, but hopefully helpful to communicate it here, but at a burger place (I think it was Section B in Hittin), they brought out my fries 5 minutes before my burger and drink. ...
