Important to note that most of the staff on duty were friendly and very helpful. Security is 100% professional. However: ||1. Poor WifI: I was surprised to learn that wifi connectivity problems (causing me to miss a holiday dinner invite via WhatsApp!) were nothing new to the hotel staff. They said they've had many guest complaints about poor wifi - but apparently didn't fix it. ||||2. When other minor hotel problems added up to warrant a conversation with the hotel manager - he was nowhere to be found. Over three days, he wasn't there - and front desk staff said they had no contact information for him (he's new, they said). The second-in-charge was alerted, but didn't follow up.||||3. Avoid the hotel restaurant waiter with heavy booze on his breath, as he wasn't sober enough to describe menu items and later, the wrong order came to my table. When I called him out for smelling like alcohol, I was surprised that other hotel staff were already aware the waiter had a liquor problem. Hey - I don't want anyone to lose their job - maybe consider putting the tipsy waiter in the kitchen or back office? ||||4. My reservation said a holiday "Gala Dinner" was included in the rate. There was no gala dinner. There wasn't even a regular dinner included for the price. Be sure to confirm.||||5. At check-in, my room looked nothing like the photos on the website. However, when I went back downstairs to ask why - they moved me to one of the renovated rooms, with a nice view of the main street and all the action at "Ceasar's Restaurant" across the street.||||The hotel location is - perfect - and is very well secured. ||Housekeeping wonderful....
Read moreExcept for the cleaning staff (all of them were really kind and nice), I had the worst service ever in this hotel. People at the reception, in particular two men, were not professional and incredibly rude. When we arrived, they had no rooms for us. They blamed booking.com, saying that they don’t check whether the hotel has availability or not (?!). First of all, booking does check, in the sense that it sends a booking request to the hotel, which is supposed to call the client if there is no space. Anyway, regardless of who was responsible, we had no rooms and they treated us like they were making us a huge favour while finding us a room. After a long wait, we finally got the rooms. The day after, I paid an extra half day to sleep until dinner time, as I had a night flight and a very busy following day. A very nice lady at the reception reassured me that I was going to have a good rest. Obviously they didn’t coordinate and I had the rudest receptionist calling me while I was sleeping, asking why I was still in the room and I hadn’t checked out. This clearly ruined my rest but worst of all, he didn’t even apologise when I explained the situation. With a smile on his face, when I finally checked out, he asked ironically: “did you sleep well?”. Seriously?!? The worst service ever, don’t go. You can find much better deals in Dakar and be treated with much...
Read moreWent there for business trip. For the breakfast in the morning, the waiter will always forget a few items, if you are sitting outside, you have to wait for him to come out to notify him. If he doesn't come out, it's better you get up and notify them inside. Moreover they will always bring a wrong bill. Rooms are okay but when they come to clean, they don't even change the water in the bucket so expect them to mop your room with the last room they cleaned dirty water leaving eventually a bad smell. The cleaning boy will squeeze and rinse the mop with his bare hands in the dirty water and then change your sheets and pillow case with the same hands. The lifts are full of mosquitoes who seem to never actually leave the lift. The air-conditioner filter was dirty and full of dirt and moist. Smiling staffs, they fear complaints and always have an excuse to defend themselves. I spent the rest of my stay not saying anything and let things be. For sure I am never going back! The Location is good as a strategic point of business but there are better hotels within...
