The area where the hotel is in is the beginning of the business district. Its very busy dirty and a lot of people hang out just outside the gates of the hotel. The beach is not close by nor is it an actual beach to visit. The pool is across the street a short walk but it is not on the actual property.

IN REGARDS TO THE HOTEL STAFF:

The service is just as poor as their wifi. Initially I was greeted and treated nicely when checking in.

That all changed through out my stay. The staff was very unresponsive and unkind to me during my time there. I noticed that the staff would only speak to, or greet certain guest and not others. Where they would acknowledge and engage with some guest they would ignore and be callous to others. IF YOU ARE AN AFRICAN AMERICAN PERSON DO NOT STAY HERE. Unfortunately I have to leave this review so that other as my self do not make the mistake and book a stay at this hotel property. I had a reservation for 3 days 2 night and immediately cut it short. I checked out the same day that I checked in, I left for another hotel later that night. The service and respect from the staff here was so poor. My entire experience at the pullman hotel was surreal. I could not believe the treatment I received. I will never stay here again. It could even be understood that the minds of those that work are pullman are most colonized. I expected better. As I did not expect to be treated so poorly. I was very excited as this was my first time coming to Senegal but it is safe to say that I will not return.

Again and I say this strongly, IF YOU ARE AN AFRICAN AMERICAN PERSON DO NOT STAY HERE AT THIS HOTEL. I mean this. Find somewhere else to stay. Senegal is a decent country and depending on where you are from the culture takes some getting used to as with most places. I may return to senegal in the future but let it be clear that the people speak for the country. There attitudes towards African American people is poor overall. And like most African culture its a classist society. For who is reading this : Do not let this stop you from visiting but just be prepared.

To The Management Of The Pullman Hotel: elevate your service and be consistent with all visitors. The staff needs to be retrained on how to provide consistent service to people of all backgrounds and races. Also update the photos and information on the hotel website, as it is not congruent with the current state of the hotel and the services offered. Last but certainly not least pay for a better wireless router and service...

I stayed at the Pullman Dakar Teranga during Dec 2024. The hotel stay was satisfactory with one major exception. My compliant is 150 € of my money was stolen from me while I was in this hotel. The only time my purse was not in my possession was when I went to the spa. The money was accounted for prior to my entering the spa. I locked my purse in the locker provided to me by the spa. Once the services were completed, I grabbed my purse to give my masseuse a tip. I immediately noticed that I was missing a 100 € and 50 € bill. It was noticeable because I had brought only 1- 100€ bill and 1 - 50 € bill. I do not typically carry cash, but I had brought that money so that I could pay for my tour excursion. Senegal is a cash society, so if you’re traveling from the West, you will likely need to bring some cash. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the tour that was recommended by hotel once my money was stolen as that particular company was a cash only business. Luckily I was able to book a tour via Viator using a credit card or my trip to Dakar would have been ruined. I would have completely missed out on the UNESCO sites. I spoke with the spa manager to determine if anyone else could have accessed the locker because I know exactly how much money I had brought in and both the 100 and 50€ bill was missing. Of course her reply was no one else can access it and this has never happened in the past. However, my money didn’t just walk away on its own. I didn’t waste too much time going back and forth with her because I knew it was not going to be fruitful. I needed to spend that time more wisely trying to find another way to book an excursion for the next day with a company that would accept electronic payment. If you choose to use the spa, I would suggest not bringing your wallet with you. Bring the exact amount of the service and leave your possessions in your room safe to be on the safe side. You would rather be overly cautious than to rely on the honesty of others. I have traveled to many countries on six of the seven continents and I have never been stolen from, so this was rather jarring to me. Additionally, please be sure to closely check your bill upon checkout. My reservation was for half board which includes 2 meals per day. I had to remind the front desk of this. It took three different attempts at correcting the bill, but they finally...

So much has improved with Pullman Dakar! From the first time I was there to 1 year later, there is tremendous improvement with service, restaurant, housekeeping etc etc .. However, there are a few things to take note of , front desk does not answer the phone at times, staff is not fulfilling what was requested by guest.

On 5th November, I checked in at 9pm. One of the bellboy, can’t remember his name, helped me with my luggage to my room. After helping me, I asked for 4 bottles water because the requested water was not given to me which I’ve requested over email. After which I gave him a XOF 2000 tips, thinking he helped me with my luggage and he could help me to get more water which he promised! Guess what? He disappeared into thin air! I tried calling the front desk 5 times, no one answered the phone. Finally when someone answered, he promised to get the same boybell to bring it up. Well, surprised surprise! No water after waiting for 2 hours! Sometimes I’ve given up hope to ask for anything with this hotel. Yes you’ve improved a lot, but there are still room for improvement.

cleanliness of the room (floor is still black and brown when cleaned) no one is answering the phone at the front desk insects in the room for platinum member please do not give me the corner room at 620 or anything near the corner which is closer to the main road. I would prepare closer to the ocean. There were so much noise from downstairs and the bin truck! crickets outside the room too! First time!

Having said that, internet is very stable and fast now.

I would like to compliment the housekeeping supervisor Fatou, for always remembering me when I check in. She is the only one who brought me more water! She told me the weather is really hot, you should drink more water which I needed it! Thank you Fatou!...

This is an excellent hotel, one of my favorites. I usually book through the “Accor” application or website to seek deals. I used to live in Dakar and they offered a weekend “resident rate,” which may still be an option of you are a Dakar resident. What makes this property stand out is the excellent service. Issa and Sega and the Teranga Beach Club (pool and ocean area), are super friendly and helpful. There are many other kind team members at the pool- Alphonse, Jeremy, Bamba, Jean, Khadijah - I could go on and on. At the front desk, Geerti has helped me more than once and is the epitome of professionalism. I love the terrace overlooking the ocean. If you have a meal on the terrace, beware of the cute little birds that will definitely steal from your plate. The rooms are good- clean, well appointed, with good lighting- especially if you are on the side of the ocean. The location is convenient to the Place de L’Independence, and you can walk from the hotel to many good restaurants, like Rond Point doe breakfast or Papagallo for lunch. You can also easily walk to the grocery store (“Casino”) This is definitely not a budget hotel, but if you are able to splurge, this is a great spot.

The hotel is quite lovely. The rooms amazing with nice decor. One thing that hits you is the way this hotel loves art-photographs on the lift floors, murals on the exterior wall, installations name it. Either you are in the seaside facing or the town facing rooms the view is exceptional. Super sunsets and sunrises on both sides. Loved their bar and cocktail menu. The lounge quite comfy and chilled out. The hotel staff including the room service teams- cleaning, laundry etc was amazing. It could probably do with a revamp of its food and menu. They could be better for a hotel of such quality. After a while the food variety is hard to look forward to especially breakfast. They accept cash and credit cards, major foreign currency and you can exchange money too (not a bad rate). It's location is a walking distance to some great Dakar attractions, a la the Museum of Black Civilisations, the port (for a ferry ride to Goree), The central town market, Statehouse, the long beautiful beach, and some amazing Dakar restaurants
