I am giving a 5 star review of this hotel even though I did not stay there.
Why? Because the service I received helping me with all my arrangements & then the sad cancellation due to an accident was incredible.
Everything was so efficient starting with the reservation directly on their website - really easy, very clear, and one had full confidence in the booking & price.
Next, using my French I learnt at school plus bing translator, I wrote to reception to arrange a transfer from the airport. I was so impressed: Germaine responded fast and again, I had full confidence everything was correctly arranged, even when I was muddling up the flight details and had to write more than once.
Finally, my wife had an accident and we had to cancel the reservation - Germaine, Louise & their colleagues in reception were so kind - they really showed empathy with our sad situation and were very efficient cancelling the reservation.
Throughout the whole experience, I really got the sense that the team at L’Adresse really care about people. They have a strong sense of service and making their guests feel comfortable.
I was so impressed and want to thank all the team for making it such an easy experience and for such excellent fast, clear, and reassuring service. Wonderful! Merci beaucoup!
[I have rated the rooms and location as 5 star as I was worried that putting zero stars would drag the average scores down. Although we did not stay there our extensive research suggests it is a very pleasant part of Dakar in which to stay, near the UN building, and more relaxed than being in the centre - yes, you need a taxi to get to the centre of the city, but this is probably worth it for a nicer location in which to stay. The rooms also look very good - I feel confident, given our detailed research providing 5 stars...
Read moreMy family and I spent about 1 week at L'Adresse Dakar.
We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel a few times, and it was good. It is buffet style, but you can also order freshly cooked eggs. I had dinner there once, and it was actually quite good as well!
One thing to note is that the rooms don't have irons, and you can not request one either. They have an ironing service for a small fee of 500 cfa per item. Bringing your own iron or a steamer will definitely come in handy.
Room service came by every day with fresh towels and linens for the bed. Well, I don't know if they changed the linen every day, but they definitely made the beds and cleaned the room, which was nice to come back to at the end of each day. There was a power outage one night, and the hotel generator kicked in right away, which was very reassuring.
The location is great! I wish we had ventured out by foot more often because on the night before we left, we visited a cool little spot called 'Le Carré'. It's like a restaurant lounge right next to the oceanside! And next door is another place called 'The Jungle', which we did not have time to visit but definitely would have. We also saw a soccer and tennis court and many restaurants as well. So venture out and explore the area if you can!
The hotel staff is very pleasant. We got acquainted with 3 of the front desk guys: Emmanuel, Mamadou, and Samba. They were there to answer all of our questions, and we had a lot of them, lol! They are great employees, so I hope the hotel management sees this review and commends them for their excellent service and representation!
Other than some minor inconveniences, we had a great stay, and I can say I would stay at L'Adresse again in the future. Like one of the other comments said, it's not luxurious, but it is very...
Read moreGood day,
I pray someone finds my review to be helpful. I am visiting from the US, Washington, D.C.
I’ve been to 54 countries. 12 of which from the continent of Africa. I’ve stayed at the Radisson here in Dakar but when there was no availability I found myself here. The hotel is clean and well decorated. The staff however was rude.
As a woman I was treated as if I didn’t exist. I was spoken to in a very condescending manner. My first concern relates to an inoperable phone. I must leave my room each time I required services. Further, there’s no iron in the rooms and the ironing service takes 2 hrs. Lastly, I asked politely to reheat food; I was told I should wait until the kitchen reopened. That was fine.
When the kitchen resumed service, I walked downstairs and asked to reheat my food only to be rudely told by one of the male staff that I was eating late and he couldn’t accommodate me.
I responded that I choose to eat when I am hungry and that it is not his concern at which time I choose to eat. The next day I spoke to another male staff. I explained that if it is the hotel’s policy not to allow food to be reheated that this should be told to all staff, and inturn, customers should be made aware. I mentioned my dissatisfaction with the way the staff spoke to me. I asked to speak to a manager only to be given an email address. When I mentioned that I would leave a review he began to laugh and dared to do so. And...
