We visited this restaurant two days in a row – simply because the food was that good.
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed. The blonde hostess at the front bar was incredibly friendly and professional, guiding us to our table with a genuine smile. Our waitress on the first day – with beautifully braided cornrows from the hairline back – was also absolutely lovely: kind, helpful, and happy to explain everything on the menu.
And the food… just wow. On our first visit, we had the ribs and the stuffed potato dumplings topped with smoky bacon – and both were absolutely incredible. The ribs were falling-off-the-bone tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The dumplings were rich, savory, and comforting – truly unforgettable.
We were so impressed that we ended up ordering more. I had a traditional beef broth, which was flavorful and warming, and my friend tried the Segedin goulash – a deliciously hearty dish with just the right balance of sauerkraut and tender meat.
To finish, we couldn’t resist dessert: soft plum jam dumplings that were light, fruity, and just the perfect sweet ending to the meal.
On our second visit, we tried the pork knuckle, and again – perfection. A bit different from how we know it in Austria, but so flavorful, well-seasoned, and beautifully cooked. Alongside it, we had more of those delicious dumplings, potato pancakes, and the house-pickled cucumbers – all absolutely spot on.
The house beer was great on both days – smooth, fresh, and easy to enjoy.
Altogether, this restaurant offered one of the best dining experiences of our entire trip to Bratislava. Delicious food, welcoming service, and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. A big thank you to the wonderful team – we’ll definitely be back. Highly...

I have never in my entire life witnessed such rude people. I’ve eaten lots of food across the world ranging from street food to fine dining and you guys have taken the #1 spot for the rudest and most inconsiderate waiting staff.
From the moment we arrived it seemed like nobody had any interest in serving us. We started by speaking to staff #1 who said ‘I don’t know, speak to my colleague about getting a table’. We then spoke to staff #2 who acknowledged us but then proceeded to take payment for a bill and then came back to us and abruptly said ‘yes sit down somewhere’. We were then served by staff #3 who was generally abrupt on taking the order and not helpful about questions regarding the Slovakian food (I’m always interested in recommendations for local food). Once we had finished we spoke to staff #4 (Staff #3 nowhere to be seen / busy) to pay the bill. Staff #4 was actually okay but said he couldn’t get the bill and to speak to his colleague. After waiting 20 minutes, I then went to ask for the bill from staff #2 (ignorant woman from earlier) who said ‘no, you speak to your waiter to pay’ I said oh sorry, he told me to see you? She then abruptly said ‘I don’t know where you sit’ so I pointed (we’re within 5m of the table). Anyway she just ignored it so I had to walk around to find staff #3 who got us the bill.
I’d like to point out that during this ordeal, we were nothing but friendly and polite and the entire waiting staff were just so rude and unwelcoming, I’ve never witnessed...
Read moreSadly, it was my first and last time visiting this place. The service was average Slovakian style (neither good nor terrible), but the lady who served us could have benefitted from some basic customer service training. As a large group of people meeting after many years, we had new arrivals constantly joining us and ordering either food or drinks. The waitress seemed to be bothered whenever we ordered just a beer or a single dish, and at one point, we thought she was about to punch us if we didn't order more at once.
As a local, I was surprised to pay €5.50 for a small, rather cold beef stock soup, but I'll chalk that up to inflation. The final straw came when some members of the group had to leave early and wanted to pay for their own food and drinks. We were told that we couldn't split the bill and that one person had to pay for everything and the rest we have to arrange between us... At first, I thought that was a joke, but sadly, this was the establishment's policy. If this policy is in place, why not inform large groups beforehand so that they can plan their orders...
