3 floors of modern Slovakian art work housed in a modern, bright, spirally space. Your ticket price includes a cup of joe or, if you like it English, a cup of Rosie Lee at their splendid cafe. The floors take you through the modern era. Beginning on the top floor, more traditional works from the end of the 19th Century. The bottom floor has abstract 21st Century works. Information for each piece of art is provided on a tablet that you receive after purchasing your entrance ticket. The modernity of the whole gallery is juxtaposed against the ticket payments option available. It’s old fashioned cash only I’m afraid. A brilliant gallery, loads of information, well presented, great value for your cash,...

I loved it! It is small, pleasant and beautiful. Included in price is a tea or coffee in their bar. You get a tablet where you can read something about each painting. I think it represents modern Slovak art very well even with the small number of pieces.

There are 5 floors which are quite small and you can be there for a very short time if you are not the kind a person who wants to read everything about a certain piece of art and look at it for a long time. But if you are, it can take you a while. I did not like the gournd floor with temporary exhibition very much but these change and next one might be better (also,...

You should go. Really. Go. We went during the week when there were few other visitors. The art and its context is super interesting. The paintings are beautiful, or disturbing, or thought provoking, and the styles of specific artists become so clear when you see two or three of them next to each other. I particularly liked the women's legs pictures. And there are sculptures on many of the floors. There are maybe 5 circular floors with a hole in between going down to the ground floor, which I think is a changeable exhibition.

The descriptions really were helpful to put things in a context and learn a little more about...

I loved this gallery very much. Its quite small but fully packed with modern slovak art. Design of the building resembles Guggenheim's museum of New York, which is awesome. Entrance for an adult is only 5 Euros so even for its size its very well worth it. You can enjoy some fine pieces from slovak art history by the great artists like Fulla, Benka, Mednyanszky or Krivos. The ticket price also includes cup of coffee in a caffeteria, which is on the first floor so you can refresh yourself. There is not much to see for art lovers in Bratislava, but be sure to include this cute little gallery to your plan!

Definitely the highlight of my visit to Bratislava. I visited in mid to late September on a weekday so it wasn't very busy. The receptionist there was very kind and made me feel welcome. The tablets they provided worked very well and helped give background on the artists. Based on the receptionist's recommendation, I started on the top floor and made my way down. I enjoyed seeing the different pieces by Slovakian artists who had their own takes during the different art movements. Finally, the gallery feels very modern with a great interior design. Would highly recommend.
