Frištuk — Restaurant in Bratislava

Today, I completely accidentally ended up at a simply unbelievably beautiful place called Frištuk (frištuk, that's breakfast in German :)). We stopped by on the way because we wanted something to bite into, but I totally didn't expect this place to be so beautiful, cosy and welcoming!

The owner met us behind the counter and realising we weren't just in for a coffee, immediately offered to make us English breakfasts, and while we waited, they brought us great coffee in beautiful cups. It didn't take long for breakfast to arrive and it was simply marvellous.

And then we were tempted for dessert. And that finally killed my gastronomic receptors. They were just beating in ecstasy from the most delicate pistachio cake.

Overall, from the very beautiful and cosy interior, to the delicious food, to the very, very welcoming attitude - everything was just amazing. I'm very glad I found this place.

There are seats with power outlets inside, but it can get quite crowded before 12 noon, according to the owners, but after 12 it's free. It was practically empty when we were there. You can pay by card.

I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area at this...

Cas na sobotny brunch, vacsina znamych miest je plna a tak hladam idealne nove miesto, ktore ma prekvapi a bude volne aj bez rezervacie. Na odporucanie znameho, som dostal tento rodinny podnik, ktory urcite musim vyskusat. Stalo to za to? 100% ano.

Jedlo: Bundasik - klasicky chleba vo vajci, no s prekvapnim sunky a syru vo vnutri, takze z toho je vlastne dokonaly sandwich ktory je perfektne vyladeny a nechyba mu nic, syr na vrchu sa akurat roztapa ako vam to prinesu. Doladuje to skvely ketchup a tiez aj salat. Za mna 10/10. Prazenica na masle - skvelo ochutena prazenica, ani moc sucha ani moc mokra, idealna konzistencia ktoru mozete zlahka natriet na chlebiky ktore dostanete (2 krajce na styl hrianky, 2 krajce cerstveho chlebika), izbovej teploty maslo iba ulahcuje situaciu a salat doplna chut. Porcia, ktora 100% nasyti a nebudete vladat nic dalsie. Za mna 10/10. +maju alternativu s moznostou prazenicu na hluzovkovom oleji (co budem skusat na najblizsej navsteve).

Napoje: Siroky vyber napojov, cez kavu, miesane drinky (alko/nealko), citronady a ostatne. Kazdy si urcite najde to svoje.

Servis: Toto je primarny dovod preco navstivit toto miesto. Rodinny podnik, kde spolocnymi silami robia toto miesto magickym. Kreativita chuti z kuchyne a usmiaty personal (hovoria anglicky, cize velke plus pre cudzincov).

Celkovy dojem: Za mna je toto objavenie skryteho pokladu v Bratislave. Bola to prva navsteva a urcite nie posledna a ocakavam ze sa z toho stane pravidelne miesto ku ktoremu sa budem milerad vracat. Ostatne “brunch” podniky si mozu zobrat priklad, ako robit jedlo naozaj “home-made” ci uz z pohladu chuti (kde bolo naozaj vsetko skvele) alebo vizualnej prezentacie.

Za mna 2 palce hore. Urcite by som zaradil do top brunch podnikov...

Amazing breakfast place. I'm so glad I skipped the boring hotel breakfast and strolled over to this place. Cute, cozy, and with a homely atmosphere. They have open faced sandwhiches with various spreads and toppings, hot breakfast options, and a selection of typical Slovak cakes, as well as some other desserts. I had the egg spread sandwhich and coffee with "kavove zrno" which is a small chocolate covered dessert with marzipan and filling. Highly recommended :) And, the coffee is great too!
