Being new to the area, we came here based on reviews. We were immediately met and greeted. Soon after we were graciously seated and received the utmost attention from our waiter throughout. He was able to recommend a wonderfully balanced and exemplary Slovenian wine matched to our desires and food choices. The bread was brought to our table and proved to be fresh, still warm and delicately flavored with perfect crust and internal moisture and structure. My dish of fresh, handmade pasta with scampi and black truffles was not only a perfectly sized portion, but was out of this world! The scampi had a creamy texture without being too rich or fatty. The flavour created a perfect backdrop to the pasta (watch out grandma- I may have a new noodle love). The perfect amount of truffles created a flavor trifecta with the scampi, and pasta. It is understandable that they wish to offer something of a higher tier foodie kind of meals but since it's part of a trendy-type hotel, it could offer also more regular food besides the premium wanna-be things. Besides this place there is a pizzeria in the same complex, which is on the other hand the perfect mix of ambient and quality.

This is a pretentious restaurant where the quality of the food does not match the hype or flourish with which everything is presented. They insist on charging for bottled water despite numerous restaurants (including other higher end establishments) offering free tap water which is completely safe to drink in Slovenia. They also charged a table cover despite me not touching the bread which arrived at my table long before the food or wine menu did. For my main I was charged €16 for sardines on a bed of coleslaw with some tiny bits of potato mixed in. Completely laughable. If you think good food means high prices and fancy table settings then sure come here, because that's all...
