Top notch food and a very large selection of wines to choose from. I would have give 5 stars had it not been for a few over charges on the bill. Firstly, there was a 2.5 euro pp for table cloth charge. I didn't see any table cloth on our table so I assume it is like a service charge. I would have happily given 10% tip for the food if they didn't charge this which I have not seen in any other restaurants, including the more expensive ones by the water. Secondly, the wine we ordered costs 30 euros but the one given to us was 41 euros, according to the waiter. I don't pay attention to the name of the wine when they bring the bottle out. The guy never fixed this up even though I clearly pointed to the 30 euros bottle. Then lastly, we were charged an extra dessert so I had to go back to tell them to fix this. It's a bit hard to take a close look at a big bill when the guy has the credit card machine waiting...

You can't get better than a hidden gem that is slightly off the beaten path. You can tell by how the small dining room is kept organized and clean and the small and visible kitchen that this is a serious restaurant. Quite a nice selection of local wines and my waiter was quite knowledgeable on his suggestions. The menu is not like other restaurants in Piran. It is focused and offers the right amount of options. The food is excellent. Everything is fresh, well seasoned, the flavors are expertly handled and the presentation is professional and not pretentious. Had d uck and it could not have been cooked better.
