I had my lunch in this nice sea-side restaurant in Piran during a day trip with my friends. Our overall experience was very good.

The food was up to the reputation of the place. We tried fish plate that includes shrimp, small octopus, sea bream (orada in Slovene) including some other fish fillet. We also ordered octopus separately, which was well cooked. The top of the list was the Pavel special scallop (Kapesanta), which was delicious. We had good local beer and Campari as drinks.

The service was welcoming and quick. The place is just beside the shore. It was a sunny day which added to the beauty of the place. However, one might need to be careful about random sneaking seagulls, which are not frequent but can arrive to steal your food, specially if you are seating just beside the fence. To me that adds to the fun part.

Went there during busy hours and got a table inside. Very quiet ambiente, no music, some fighting in the kitchen could be overheard. We wanted to order Lobster but the waitress immediately told us off because it was a big portion. We ordered a round of starters and a round of main dishes. One of us got the wrong starter and when we told the waitress she seemed to shrug it off but did bring us the right dish. While we seasoned our main dishes we realised that the parmesan they brought us was moldy. When we told them about it they brought a new tray with even more moldy cheese. After another remark they cut open a new pack of supermarket parmesan infront of us hoping it would satisfy us. The rest of the food tasted...

It has a nice location, good ambient and friendly waiters. We didn't make a reservation and still got a table, but we didn't have a big variety of tables to choose from, so I suggest, you make a reservation in advance. The menu has a reasonable selection of different dishes, that includes mostly seafood, but also other meat and vegetarian food. The selection of drinks is nothing special but isn't lacking either. Food portions are reasonably sized, so you don't stay hungry but you can easily eat the whole dish. We ordered seafood risotto and mixed grill plate and it tasted good, but nothing special. But good!
