Brough Woodfired Pizza — Restaurant in Bo-Kaap

UPDATE This hidden gem has officially become me and my family’s favourite pizza spot! After sharing my first experience, the owner reached out to me and expressed his disappointment in the service I had (the Uber driver was late which was completely out of their control). He offered to give us 2 free pizzas, on him, so that we can experience their pizzas fresh from the oven.

We visited the spot; a cosy, tucked away gem in Bo-Kaap. The team were extremely welcoming and happy to see us. The owner, Waheeb, is an experienced chef and a genuine guy, passionate about food and providing quality to his customers. He built this space from the ground up and you can see the attention to detail that was placed into everything.

The pizzas were so delicious once again, made with fresh ingredients, with a crust that is not too thin and not too thick, just perfect. Their prices are also really good and so worth it. They also have homemade beverages which are made by his wife.

If you haven’t tried them before, I HIGHLY recommend paying them a visit - you will NOT be disappointed, I guarantee you that.

Decided to try this spot for dinner last night - unfortunately we didn’t have the best experience.

We ordered 2 pizzas on Uber Eats and it took over 1 and a half hours to arrive. When we called their branch to find out what was going on, the staff were unfriendly and very cold. They had very little input and weren’t helpful. We tried calling the delivery guy but got no answer.

Eventually the pizza arrived at 22h30.

Now, the pizzas themselves were delicious - cold, but delicious. We ordered the masala steak & smoked chicken pizzas. Both were tasty and I’m a big fan of their base.

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that their service is probably better in person, but I would not suggest ordering over Uber.
