We had the worst experience at this establishment. We made a booking but when we arrived we were told that they acknowledge the booking but the floor manager wasn’t informed of the booking so no table was reserved. We had to wait for +-15 to 20 minutes to be seated. We were then taken to a table that was not cleaned, there was bubble gum on the taken that someone was eating and drinks spilled. They had put new menus on top of the table without cleaning it. It was when we picked up the menus when we noticed that the table dirty meaning the waiter that put the menu down saw that the table was dirty and decided to put the menus on top of the dirty table. We had to wait for 20 minutes for someone to come and ask if we are ready to order drinks by the time the waiter came we asked if the table can be cleaned and put in the drinks order. The waiter then returned after 15 minutes with the cloth and brought the drinks 20 minutes later. We ordered our starters and mains. The starters and the mains almost got to the table at the same time. I ordered a medium steak but what I got was nowhere near a medium steak, it looked and tasted like a very well done steak which came in a cold plate. I am never ever setting my foot at this establishment!! Everything was disappointing. We went out for a friends birthday but it turned out as the worst experience.

What a disappointing experience I had my first time ordering from this spur via Uber eats. I ordered a half cheddar melt chicken schnitzel and a baked potato. The cheese on the schnitzel was burnt onto the chicken and did not look appetizing at all and the effect of being so burnt onto the chicken is that upon eating it it had lost its taste. So basically “no cheese “ on the cheddar melt schnitzel. Secondly, I ordered baked potato but when the food arrived I got chips and onion rings. Apparently they told the driver to tell me there’s no potato. How??? On a Friday night when you know you are going to be busy do you not have potatoes??? I’m assuming the chips are frozen…otherwise how did you make the chips? And most annoying…I don’t eat onions at all and I specifically didn’t want chips. So basically this was a waste of a meal after a long day when I was so hungry. All this food is now going to waste. What a shame.

Great Meal at Apache Spur Cape Town. Had a really enjoyable meal at Apache Spur in Cape Town. Big shoutout to Nimrod, our waiter, who was super friendly and on the ball—he made sure everything was perfect. We went for the New York Sirloin, Rump Steak, and a half portion of the Cheesy Garlic Prawn Schnitzel. The steaks were cooked just right—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The schnitzel was also really good, with a nice rich garlic sauce that wasn’t too heavy. For dessert, we had the Ice Cream Delight (half) and the Classic Waffle (half). Both were just the right amount of sweetness to wrap up the meal. All in all, it’s a great place for delicious food and top-notch service. Big thanks again to Nimrod for looking after us so well.

I am so disgusted and disappointed in Spur Apache.

On Friday, 3rd August, I ordered through Mr Delivery to my work and paid using the Mr D. EFT option. The order arrived and the driver left. My order, Calamari Main was 100% fine but my friends Cheddermelt burger was anything but.

WHAT I ORDERED: Cheddermelt Burger Crumbed Chicken Patty No Tomato's No Gherkins Mushroom Sauce

WHAT I GOT Cheese Burger Beef Patty No Tomoto's ( well done ) Lots of Gherkins No Mushroom Sauce

Now apart from the pure annoyance of ordering something and receiving something else, a Cheese Burger is R86 whereas a Cheddermelt is R97, so who is giving themselves abit of an extra tip?

However, this is not even why I am so upset that this mistake was made. My main anger comes in that I said NO GHERKINS for a reason, not because the person doesn't like them, but because he is ALLERGIC to them. The pure thought of if he did eat it without realising scares me.

And no this didn't just happen and now I'm venting, I have gone through the correct channels but this now seems to be the only way to get some type of answer as it seems like this is not a serious issue.

On Friday, after realising their mistake I immediately phoned the Spur and told them what had happened and got passed on to a manager who asked me "Is the delivery driver still there?" To which I replied "No" She replied with "well then there's nothing we can do" ?????? I then told her that, that was unacceptable and she asked for my number and said she would phone me back. In the time of waiting my friend said that he will just drive to the store, so I phoned to let them know that he was going to do that and ask if they could start preparing his correct order, this time I spoke to another manager (who was a lot more understanding) and the manager said that they would contract Mr D. to come get his new burger and deliver it so that we would not need to drive there. Great? No. After waiting 1 hour I phoned the store 4 time with NO ANSWER. At this point I phoned the Spur Customer Service (which is excellent) and they said it would take up to 48 hours for the store to speak to all parties and investigate and get back to me. Spur Apache it has been 65 hours, your time is up.

God forbid an adult or child asks for something to be taken off because they are allergic and it gets put on...

Worst spur experience ever!

Took my lady for a birthday supper at spur and our mood was just put off by the poor service and food.

Firstly, I tried ordering a starter along with our main meal asking the waiter if they can bring the starter first and then our main meal. The waiter tells me his gonna bring everything at once. I tried to explain to him by doing that it'll get our main meal cold by the time we done with the starter. I couldn't convince him of doing that and decided to leave the starter. I really wanted the starter and decided to get up and speak to the manager about it and it happened as such.

Secondly, our drinks arrived. My lady complaining that the coke is gasless and as she was drinking we discover the glass was still dirty with a white line around the inside of the glass. Seems like it was a milkshake previous in the glass. HOW DISGUSTING CAN THIS BE!!!

To top it all off, our food arrived and her steak was ice cold!!! We got the manager to replace it and took a while. I was almost done eating when her replacement meal arrived and her appetite to eat was gone!

I fell so bad bring her to this spur for her birthday not knowing we'd receive such terrible service overhaul, I literally had to get up from my seat numerous of times to complain to the manager!

Looking at the reviews of this spur it seems like you'll are known for bad service and cold foods!

The owner of this restaurant and managers should definitely look into this if you'll want to win customers or rather just close down this branch as this is becoming pathetic!

Thank you for ruining her birthday experience...

This spur does not even deserve a one star. A negative rating would be the most suitable. I'm extremely disappointed with my recent dining experience at this halaal Spur branch. As regulars at other halaal Spur restaurants in Gauteng, such as Eldoglen, Sandton City, and Rosebank, we expected a similar standard of quality. Unfortunately, this location fell far short.

The T-bone steak was tasteless, and the onion rings were subpar, consisting of soft, scrap-like pieces rather than crispy rings. The wait for our food was excessive, even though the restaurant was not busy. To make matters worse, the salad was not fresh, and the cutlery and sauces arrived only after our food had been served.

Furthermore, we had to request basic amenities like serviettes and wet wipes, which should have been provided as a standard.

When we brought these issues to the waitress's attention, she informed the manager, who seemed more interested in discussing the broken TV in the kids' play area, her recent radio appearance, and her 18 years of experience at Spur. Unfortunately, her experience did not translate to better quality food or service.

We were offered replacement chips and onion rings, but by then, it was too late. Overall, our experience was a complete waste of money.

It's disappointing to say that this Spur branch does not represent the Spur franchise that we are used to in Gauteng. The standards of quality, service, and attention to detail that we've come to expect from Spur were sadly lacking at...
