This is such a quaint and unique restaurant and it should be a must visit if you are in Cape Town. We managed to get a last minute booking and was seated in a private area in a loft that we had to climb a small ladder. I love this setup!
Ordering was a little stressful if you have never been to an Ethiopian restaurant before. We ordered the veggie sampler and the lamb mista (which is a combination of lamb alicha and lamb key wat). It was all served in a lovely platter along with injera bread.
Oh the food was absolutely delicious. The veggie sampler is a MUST and then you can add on the meats that you would like. We could not finish the meal despite desperately wanting to. The ambience of the place was also so lovely. We felt like we were in the middle of a little village.
The only downside was the initial server we had. She was rather trying to hurry us along to order despite having handed us the menu just short of 1-2 mins prior. But then our other server came and...

After ordering our tea, the waiter thought it appropriate to tell us that only customers having a full-on dinner were welcome and not those only having drinks. Apparently, they'd rather have empty seats than have paying customers. This is enforced by the arrogant owner/manager who was nowhere to be seen.
We paid and left without having our drinks and told the waiter that we did not appreciate feeling unwelcome and won't be back. They could have let us know this before we sat down and ordered, instead of excuses and complaints afterwards. Now we just feel like we're not wanted there. By the way, the table was also not clean, which added to our overall irritation.
Where has care for customers gone? All respect for your restaurant...

The restaurant is set up in such a way that everyone has their little private section, which I loved especially for conversation purposes.
The decor is interesting with lots of Ethiopian traditional pieces as well as pieces from all overt Africa. You truly feel the African presence.
Our waiter was extremely kind and attentive as it was our first time trying out Ethiopian food. We ordered a mixed meat platter, and it was more than enough for five people! Let me not forget to mention very very yummy. I did find the injera a bit sour but that’s probably just personal taste. The prices are very reasonable especially if you are coming as a group.
Hygiene here is also up to scratch, as before your meals arrive you are directed to a place where you can wash your hands.
Definitely a worthwhile experience, will be frequenting here more...
