I have left this review for 5 days hoping I would be proven wrong. It would seem I hoped in vain. I work directly above Burger King Long Street and most mornings, I get a hot chocolate or a cappuccino. On Wednesday 12 July 2023, I went to at exactly 06:00 because I know that they clean between 5 and 6. The glass door was closed but I pushed it open and walked in. There were three employees in various states of vegetating behind the counter. I walked up to the counter and asked one of the employees what time they opened since it seemed as if there was less than nothing going on. He just gave me a vacant stare. I repeated my question and received the same response. I swiftly turned around and walked out.
At 06:15 I went back. I asked to speak to the manager. A gentleman by the name of Teboho came from the back and just stood in front of me. I told him my whole story and he concurred that it was unacceptable and undertook to take the involved staff members to task. He even took my name and telephone number.
Surprise! It is 5 days later and I am still waiting for a call or apology. The service has come from bad to worse and even though it is a convenient restaurant I will walk further and try to get decent service from another restaurant. Read moreI had the worst experience with a very rude lady who was at the till dispatching orders; she's light skinned with beads on her neck. We ordered a Texas BBQ 3.0 meal and a Whopper meal with coffee instead of the soda drinks. I was handed a bag after I assumed that we'll be given 2 bags since we ordered 2 items. I then asked the lady about the second item and she immediately raised her voice saying that both items are in the bag and I should have asked for 2 bags when placing my order.
The funny thing is, it wasn't even a big deal to me and I just wanted to clarify if both items were in the bag she gave to me. I also asked her if there was any particular reason why she raised her voice, she continued with the same attitude until another very kind lady who prepared our coffee apologised on her behalf.
It's quite unfortunate that someone with such bad manners is allowed to deliberately harm someone else's business. I don't have any issues with the store or the franchise but having such a rude fellow attend to customers is just unacceptable. I sincere hope that the store owner takes the review seriously; all the proof they need is in the store camera. All this happened between 5pm and 5:30pm on Friday evening...

Cape Town was a beautiful experience, if you have your own lunch bag & not needing to use the retail & restaurant facilities. Subtle tribalism is happening all over Cape Town. For 1, I wasn't Caucasian (white) or Coloured or Xhosa, so for the retail sales people all around, you're not served with courteousness or a smile ☺ Greeting them in another language wasn't appreciated. 🤔 We were buying for 5 of us, so we also ordered @3 other restaurants that night. Service from other restaurants was the same all round. Other provinces have proven to be friendlier with their non Provincial guests. But my holiday was beautiful Burger King Cape Town needs...
