I first sent a complain about a year ago that I kept receiving straws after selecting "no straw" on the uber app - an option that they specifically give you. Kauai contacted me back, put all the blame on the drivers for taking the straws, and said they'd look into it. Anyhow, since then I've place 6 orders, on every single order I have (a) ticked "no straw" on the app, which is an option that they put there on their page and (b) in the special instructions, made it very clear that they need to tell the driver that I DO NOT WANT A STRAW AND THEY MUST NOT TAKE ONE. On all of the first 5 orders, a straw arrived regardless. On the 6th order, no straw arrived, but the driver said that the resturant had asked him to apologise because they WANTED TO SEND A STRAW BUT THEY WERE OUT (which proves that they lied initially about it being the driver's fault that I kept getting straws. It's clearly the store sending them). Look, I don't personally think that straws are the biggest problem facing the environment at the moment. And it does look like they're now making them more recycleable or whatever. But this is greenwashing. At it's finest. The stores themselves have signs up begging you not to take a straw to help the environment. And then they absolutely refuse to not send you one. It's Kafkaesque. I was even in a Kauai the other day and had to tell the person 3 times at the counter that I didn't want a straw before they finally put it back. They're putting themselves out in their marketing material as being all eco friendly and guilting everyone about straws but then going out of their way to make sure they give you a straw no matter how hard you protest. Besides which, bottom line is they just aren't reading the instructions. It's greenwashing. It's annoying. And it's just bad...

I have visited this branch at least 10 times and each time I am left dissapointed. Unfortunately, this is the closest branch to me.

This one particular staff has 'I dont care' attitude. She has on multipel occasion, ignored my requests and repeatedly takes the wrong order and I think she does it because she just doesn't care. (I don't understand why she is there). If you order Iced Americano, you will get Iced Cappachino. If you order Iced Cappachino, you will get Hot Cappachino. She is dragging everyone down with her.

Their Chai Latte tastes like cinnamon powder mixed with water and honey. At first I was convinced that its just what Kauai delivers, until I tried other Kauai branch.

I can go on and on about Portside Kauai. Only positive thing that I can say is that some staff are pleasent but they really need a supervisor to guide them.

I've never had such bad service at a Kauai anywhere else in South Africa. I ordered a meal while stepping out from work, took a far walk to purchase something. I got back and A) they couldn't find my order then B) after getting back to me 5mins later, they say they made the wrong wrap. What was most upsetting is 4 staff couldn't give me a direct answer when I asked WHERE my wrap is. I finally got my wrap and I could taste it was not made with love. It was rushed and tastes nothing like the one I had at the V&A the day before or in...

I got the Teriyaki Mushroom poke bowl from Kauai, I loved the many textures from the soft avocado slices to the squishy mushrooms to the cruchiess of the nuts all served on a bed of fresh rice with some crunchy raw veg. The teriyaki sauce was a bit earthy and slightly tangy and helped blend the dish together. Service was good overall. A quiet ambience was preserved though the store location is on the corner of a bustling main street
