Sky-HI Ride — Local services in Western Cape

I visited Sky-HI Ride during a visit to Cape Town. I’m a big fan of thrill rides, so when I saw the attraction on the Cape Town City Pass I couldn’t miss the opportunity. The attraction is located in Hotel Sky, which is very prominent in Cape Town and easily found. Once you arrive in the reception the friendly concierge was able to check me in and arrange the drop. After a very short wait at the elevators, you’re greeted by a welcoming member of the Sky-HI Ride team, and they take you up to the 28th floor, where the ride towers over Cape Town’s skyline.

The team really get you hyped up for it, and once you’ve stowed your bags, they take you up to the ride, and talk through the safety procedure. Once you’ve locked in you are then hoisted slowly to the top of the tower where you can take in the view. Having been on hundreds of rides over my 20+ years of being a theme park enthusiast, I can safely say that Sky-HI has the best view I’ve ever had on a ride. You have a minute to enjoy the ride before you plunge back down to earth, and even though it’s a fairly short drop – it packs a punch!

The staff were so enthusiastic and really made the experience that much more special. They have great music playing out over the viewing area and platform where the ride is launched, all adding to the atmosphere. It’s certainly a ‘must-do’ attraction when in Cape Town. I recently had the opportunity to experience the Sky-Hi ride, and it was incredible. The staff were enthusiastic and did a great job of hyping up the experience. I highly recommend going at night, as the view of Cape Town is breathtaking. While the ride up the tower was smooth, the drop was absolutely exhilarating. I closed my eyes during the first ride, but during the second ride, I mustered up the courage to keep my eyes open and the view was stunning. I’m definitely planning on going again for another ride. The GoPro video is a great option for capturing the experience and is it professionally edited video that really showcases the thrill of the ride. The ride is weather permitting and limited to 10 rides per ride, but the experience is worth it. One payment gets you 2 rides. A payment is priced at R200 - this includes the Go Pro video. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an adrenaline rush...

Our experience from arrival to departure was exceptionally smooth and enjoyable. The team went out of their way to create a friendly and upbeat atmosphere throughout our visit. They warmly welcomed us, engaged in conversations, and set the vibe with some upbeat music. A high-five on our departure was a fun and memorable touch, making us feel truly valued as visitors.

The view from the top was undeniably stunning, and it provided a great perspective of the surroundings. While we had the opportunity to enjoy two drops, it would have been even more satisfying to have one additional drop for the price. In my opinion, three drops would hit the sweet spot, offering a more complete experience.
