I had lunch there this afternoon and it was quite an unpleasant experience. Running a restaurant is a challenging business for sure but at the very heart of a successful business especially in the service industry is courtesy and respect not only towards your patrons but also your staff. At first I thought this was a neat little gem and hopefully the food would be good. The start went okay nothing out of the ordinary and I grabbed a seat at the window. It's a rather hot day, I placed an order of their lunch special and got a drink. I was merely pointed to where the straws were and not offered a glass and ice. I waited about 20min for a small order and the lady who had placed a takeaway order after me received her order before me. That doesn't bode well. The food itself was okay nothing exciting. The pork dumplings were average and lacking in flavour, rather bland. I was still busy eating and then the owner asked if he could clear my plate which is very odd as I still clearly have a steamed bun on my plate which turned out to be dense and bland. Later on a couple sat next to me and they were offered glasses and ice with their drinks whereas I wasn't. The staff did not appear to be enjoying working there. He spoke with them in an unfriendly manner. I finished my food and asked for the bill. I did not want to leave a tip after this experience and he very cheekily came with the card machine and said "how much you want to pay?" I suggested merely rounding the bill off to the nearest figure and hopefully he would get a hint as to my displeasure. As I left he very rudely and loudly discussed the amount of the bill to the people sat there and I was still within earshot and heard him. Needless to say I will not be visiting this restaurant again and nor would I recommend it. I believe the owner needs to learn about respecting his customers/staff and offering a consistent and equal level of service to ALL. (P.S his attitude is pretty aggressive on similar...

Expectations were high but experience was terrible. This was not due to the food or servants/chefs. The food was fair enough but unfortunately the person who seemed to be the manager made us loose our appetite. Not only was he rude, but what disturbed us the most was his way of managing his employees, who seemed very sweet. His presence in restaurant made us very uncomfortable as he was sending out a very auctorial energy, constantly stressing and surveilling his staff in no kind manner what so ever. His behaviour against his employees made us very upset, making it difficult to enjoy our meal. Finally, upon paying, a pre fixed service charge had been added which we were far from keen to pay, however when confronting him, instead of caring for our experience he simply stated “you should just order takeaway then”. Deeply disappointed with this experience as we in Cape Town expect a enjoyable experience where service is otherwise immaculate. Never going here again. We feel terribly sorry for the people...

Im a person who has been to almost every country on this planet, and i can with confidence say that South Africa is the most polite and service minded country I have ever been to…But then I tried this sushi bar. The manager, or what ever he was, completely changed my mind. He was extremely rude and passive aggressive against his employees to such a degreee that it make me uncomfortable and almost vomit. He was constantly watching and correcting his workers in the most disrespectful way possible. I have nothing bad to say about his employees, and I wish that I had the opportunity to hire them myself. Besides that he forced me to pay a 10% tip, even tho I refused. But food was okay, so If you’re ordering take away, it...

We loved the little bar where we were able to sit on the street. The place was super cute and the boss was there the whole time and was super friendly ! He always wanted to make sure we were satisfied and he was very positive and confident about his place which was nice to see. The beef noodle were very good. The prawn dumpling and porc suimai felt like they were simply frozen and heated in a microwave. The spring onion pancakes were a little dry compared to all the other one I’ve had. The porc wonton soup was ok, again the wonton felt like frozen and « mooshie ». I would go back to try their sushi, other clients were having the sushi and they look good !

Nice little restaurant. We went for the lunch special. Had the pork noodles. Unfortunately they were microwaved and the taste was kinda average. The staff took very good care of us and also did a nice presentation of the food. Atmosphere wise the restaurant is tiny and cute and feels homey. Although it’s right on the street so it’s a bit busy. There was a constant smell of tar and fumes. Not sure where it came from. Absolutely enjoyed the bubble tea! Very affordable so that’s a plus.

The simplest yet most effective Sushi place in town. Simplicity of menu choice, freshness, timely prep, simplicity of seats. Ultimately, a beautiful sunny spot cornered within one of the busiest roads in De Waterkant which lowers down a bit the overall exp. Anyway a must-try in the area. Reviews speak of ‘well priced’ I’d say it depends on one’s appetite. Sushi in Cape Town not anymore unicorn. Pay as you eat and fish became crazy expensive almost everywhere.
