Skybar — Restaurant in City Centre

I am super disapointed in Skybar. I have been coming there for years and so taken back by their requirements to book a table.

Firstly i understand R1000 deposit but R3500 is over the top. Skybar is not a 5 star setting nor are we having a function or a dinner.

It isn't my birthday it is my boyfriends surprise small get together and everyone is paying their own bill, so R3500 will be a total loss for me as it's non refundable.

As I told the staff I was going to purchase welcome drinks and platters but that wasn't good enough.

I get the impression Skybar doesn't need the customers or business so I will...

Personally, the venue wasn't what I expected. The roof top was small, with no intimate seating. It was lounge like structured, you have to sit next to groups of people that you don't know (if full) on long seated couches. Thus, I wouldn't suggest one on one dates here.

The bathroom looks a bit old (in a sense of it being dusty and needed an upgrade). It is also down a flight of stairs, so don't wear heals, and don't get too drunk.

However, view is definitely amazing!

used to be the Vue, over priced for sure!!!! best thing about it is the view and location. Would say very expensive to the point it may be percieved as over rated... Cape Town offers more than just one roof top bar/restaurant... watch out the toilets are dirty and requires a good deep clean with the roof pool looking green and more of a frog pond than anything else... fairly...
