Texies Grand Parade Fish Market — Restaurant in City Centre

On Saturday, 4th March , friends and I decided to try them out. Unfortunately, I had a bad fall due to a leaking fridge and did not see the puddle of water. I sustained injuries to both my knees, and the left side of my thigh is bruised. Thank goodness I do not have any fractures. A very worried employee assisted me in getting back on my feet with the help of my friend, whereas the manager was present when the fall happened. The manager did ask if I'm ok. However, I feel that safety protocols should've been followed by completing an incident report form as I did not know at that stage the extent of my injuries, a sign should've been visible to make patrons aware of possible danger area, nor was my details requested for follow-up purposes. I did not want to cause a scene as there were patrons in the shop, and I was aware that negative publicity could cause loss of business. Yesterday my mother and I opted to visit Texies for a fish and chips,surpassing all big branded food outlets as we were smacking the lekker fish and chips Texies is renowned for. We ordered a snoek and chips gatsby...seriously not the standard that was set when I went there with my parents as a laaitie. Chips not cooked underdone and mushy. Small pieces of fish mostly the tail end which we all know is mostly bone.Wet roll because of soggy lettuce and tomato, calamari sauce uou can see is diluted, ver runny and not pasty the pink in colour sauce, bland. The xhosa lady that assisted my mother looked like she was still half intoxicated. Very disappointed especially mom.and BTW we pay good money for lekker food. Grand parades outside shopping area has such potential - beautiful architecture, prime location, but unfortunately seems to have many loiterers and scoundrels. This could be a great independent shopping district or full of great little establishments but they need to improve security. Driving past at night once a fellow was running around naked here shouting at my taxi and waving his fist in an uncoordinated manner looking like an extra from Attack of the Zombies 2, clearly he had decided to take some drugs...this sort of behaviour is most uncouth and does not make for a positive impression of the city.
