My partner and I decided to visit Swan Café, a charming French-inspired crêperie in Cape Town. Despite the rainy weather, the café was busy, and we waited a few minutes for a table, which seemed to confirm its popularity. The café itself is beautifully decorated with a such a nice vibe. If you love dining somewhere aesthetically pleasing, this café definitely ticks that box.

I’m very impressed by their selection of drinks, especially all the interesting teas. I opted for a chai latte with almond milk, albeit their milk alternatives being on the pricier side, it turned out to be one of the best I've had recently at a café. My partner enjoyed a turmeric flat white, which he loved. The perfect warm, comforting, and flavourful drink for cold weather, and a drink I would highly recommend trying.

Moving on to the food, while we found the drinks impressive, the same enthusiasm didn't quite extend to our dishes. I ordered the Lili la Gourmande, a sweet crêpe filled with caramelized apple, homemade salted caramel, and almond flakes. While the dish itself wasn't overly rich, I found the salted caramel lacked a distinctive salty punch, and there were only a few slices of caramelized apple, leaving the overall taste a bit underwhelming.

My partner opted for the Parisienne, which was essentially a ham and egg crêpe. The taste was as simple as it sounds. He described it as pleasant but somewhat lacking in flavour, and thought it could use a sauce - nice, but not exceptional. As the cafe’s specialty is crepes you do have higher expectations as a customer.

However, the service was a highlight. Despite the café being busy, the staff were so friendly and attentive. Our food and drinks arrived promptly, though we did experience a slight delay when requesting the bill. The café is on the smaller side, but very cosy. However, you will be seated quite close to other customers because of the size of the space.

In conclusion, Swan Café is a lovely spot to enjoy a well-crafted coffee, tea or drink and perhaps share a crêpe. I may return for the drinks and atmosphere, but I'm not in a rush to...

My friends and I found this place and thought it looked perfect for a little Saturday morning breakfast. We were greeted by the hostess (very politely) and shown to our table within 15 minutes of our arrival. Then everything went wrong... We were told to scan the QR code at the table and order using the menus on our phones (no problem). After deciding on our orders, we waited... and waited and waited some more... when our waiter finally came to take our orders we had already been seated for a good 50 minutes. Costomers who had arrived after our group, were already being served their meals. We then placed our orders (both food and hot beverages).15 minutes after our orders were placed, 2 of the 4 beverages arrived. Only one of the orders were correct. We waited a further 10 minutes. The drinks were delicious. 20 Minutes after everyone had received their drinks, 2 of the 4 meals were served. One of which was missing an addition side (The side arrived at the same time as the last order) the 2 orders that followed were sent back because the eggs were almost completely raw. one of the last 2 meals was sent back a second time because the eggs were still raw.

10/10 WOULD...

Yes it looks French and quaint and delightful and lots of them can speak French which is fun.

But when we ordered two of your "speciality" crepes for R95 and R105 respectively, we expected it to comprise of something more special than a smear of Nutella and a crushed Ferrero Rocher. I can buy one of these on the side of the road for half the price. As for the Lili La Gourmande, Frying an apple in sugar doesn't make it worth R95 I'm afraid.

The Lait Chaud Caramel was made with homemade salted caramel which has a great flavour profile. However, it was so weak that it was basically like drinking hot milk.

The Chocolat Viennois was no better, thicker or richer than a homemade hot chocolate. The glass was also topped with about a full cup of whipped cream as a warning to those who don't enjoy this.

Maybe I just got this place on a bad day, but there are hundreds of places nearby that offer a better experience in my opinion. I was so excited to visit for the first time too. Sorry, but this place is average at best. I can't...

This is an absolute favourite spot of ours! Whenever we have Saturday off we are off to Swan Café. My sister loooooves everything French and so naturally whenever she is in town we head over to Swan Café for breakfast. From the decor to the waiters and waitresses outfits - so much thought has been put into each and every detail at the restaurant. For drinks we got two Americano Coffee's, a tumeric latte and a pot of tea. The tea is served on a beautiful swan tray with loose tea leaves and a beautiful tea pot. My sister and her boyfriend ordered Galettes and my brother and I got crepes. Mine had red wine poached pears with a dark chocolate ganache. This is what dreams are made of - right? YUM YUM YUM. I got love food. I love Swan Café's food!

We ordered 2 Sud-At Galette ( R130 each), a flat white ( R34) and 2 cortados ( R64). The crêpes were so unusual in that they were so delicate in taste and texture, yet strong enough to fold and hold the food content. It was delicious to eat a breakfast that was presented in such an unusual and scrumptious way. The coffee is really good too. I love the interior decor. And the service was great. Please note that the website indicates cash-only, but it is an entirely cashless system of payment ( no cash accepted). As locals, we were surprised at how busy it was for a Sunday, but a film was being shot around the corner, opposite New York bagel. I would definitely recommend Swan Cafe.
