THE ELECTRIC — Restaurant in District Six

I recently visited THE ELECTRIC, and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.

After attempting to pay for a drink using their card machine, which failed multiple times, I paid in cash. The staff accepted the payment but did not provide the required change. I returned later that evening to request it, but they still hadn’t resolved the issue. I left having overpaid significantly compared to a normal shop, with no effort from the venue to make up the difference.

To make matters worse, I witnessed what appeared to be service to underage patrons, which raises serious concerns about the venue’s compliance with legal standards.

Additionally, the sound setup was poor, the speakers were of low quality and detracted from the overall atmosphere. For a venue that positions itself as a bar or club space, this is a major drawback.

While THE ELECTRIC may present itself as a trendy juice and sandwich bar, my experience suggests a lack of professionalism and accountability. I would not recommend it as a bar or club venue, especially for events requiring reliable service, proper equipment, and...

Super cool vibe, enjoyed our lunch here. The upstairs area has a lovely long table and small lounge area, which was perfect for the 8 of us.

Food was fresh and tasty. My personal favorite was the red lentil soup and the shots! Freshly juiced ginger shots and green juices. With an option of fun add-ons such as Ashwaganda drops and more.

Healthy & wholesome. Definitely worth the visit.

Service was a little slow and not very welcoming, both times we were there, which sort of dampened the awesome vibe the place...

I love the aesthetic! However my experience there for the second time was not great. The staff were inattentive (had to remind them of my lunch order and order my tea and bill from the till point as no one checked with me) and unprofessional (speaking about work drama around the customers). The waitress also tipped herself without my consent. I would come back to order a takeaway as the food was delicious and loved the Devils advocate tea but I would not want to go through the staff...
