So, after reading many reviews about this place, we decided to give it a try. Our company, quite into our Friday rotis from Dehli snacks and that dude from Bird Drive decided to give Durban on the Bay a go. The smell upon entry into the shop was inviting and lady was very friendly, marketing her product quite well which made us more excited. While waiting for our order to be prepared, we tried the potato and mince samoosa's. Potato was bad, very stodgy. Mince was ok, better than most places. We recieved our meals, and left with a smile. We got into the car and I picked one the rotis to sneek a peek at it, man was I surprised. It was extremely light, as if there was nothing in it. Getting abit worried here as to what the rest of the crew is gna say when we get back to the office. Augh, another disappointment awaited us, as when we opened up the polystyrene pacakage, I honestly thought it was a spring roll! This roti was as skinny as a straw, it looked so sad. The taste was medicore. All this hype and ...mehh! So, I gues it's back to our old faithful suppleirs. Sorry Durban on the bay, we wont be coming back...

Firstly, garnishing a dish with a bouquet of dhania and chopped green chillies does not make it an authentic Durban bunny chow. What I received resembled a basic mutton stew, with uncooked tomatoes – a far cry from what one would expect from a genuine Durban-style bunny.
The kebabs were peculiar in both taste and texture, to the point where it was unclear what they were intended to be
Similarly, the so-called 'samoosas' were excessively large, with minimal filling wrapped in multiple layers of pastry – again, not reflective of the traditional version.
Overall, your restaurant's name and menu create a misleading impression of Durban cuisine.
I suggest either revisiting and refining your recipes to reflect authentic Durban dishes, or reconsidering your branding to more accurately represent the food you serve
Regrettably, this experience was a waste of money and did not meet the expectations set by...
Read moreWe ordered chicken curry, the manager insisted on us getting beef. I asked for chicken, she came out and said "im sorry, I packaged beef for you." I then said I'll wait for the chicken, they returned to the kitchen and brought back beef packaged as chicken. She deliberately fooled me to not have to give a refund. Poor business management and the food portion was small. Be sure to get what you asked for. . (The bread for the bunny chow is not completely hollow, you get a small portion of curry for the large...
