I can not say that the service was not great because there was no service provided. We walked in with no one greeting us and no host assisting us with a table. We had to walk in where we were greeted with a confused server I guess or hostess? I do not know. We grabbed a seat outside and then we waited for a long time to be helped with drinks. There were no drinks on the menus we were given, so when the waiter eventually arrived I asked about drink options, and the waiter just said "Okay, I will give you a few minutes to decide." no response to options avail as he just walked away. Ask a customer if you did not hear what they asked the first time. It was not a busy, but no service after what was not just a few minutes of waiting. We had one waitress and one waiter come up to us, but they were not seen. Good food does not always beat good service. We left to go to a restaurant where the greeting is always warm and we know what to expect when it comes to their authentic food. It was an uncomfortable experience and there was definitely nothing relaxing about...

Worst experience I've had at a restaurant in my entire life. Would not recommend to POC.

The food was amazing and our server Diego was absolutely great but we were asked to move from our table (for which we had a booking) on the account of a white gentleman who was apparently known to be a problem customer booking our exact table for 1pm. We had not finished our lunch and were still enjoying ourselves when our server asked to bring our bill because this man was insisting he be seated at our table. The man in question then proceed to come to our table and ask us to move. We asked to speak to the manager whereby she then apologized but still insisted we move and offered us other tables instead of dealing with the customer which had come after us. We were not told we had a time limit on our table and had not finished our lunch when this all happened.

An absolute dreadful end to what should have been a wonderful sister date to look for a wedding singer and Celebrate passing my Masters Degree. I'm so disappointed and would definitely not...

Our total experience at Savages was outstanding! Due to the pandemic we decided not to celebrate my daughter Amber-Sky's 16th Birthday. The morning of, I simply could not break our long-standing tradition of having brunch together. With no Reservation... I said a silent prayer for us to be accomodated at Savages. Knowing Savages respects their clients safety by ensuring a 50% venu capacity, I was concerned they would not have a table for us and we would have to settle for the second less safer option. This made me feel a little anxious, we are not comfortable dinning out during these times... Savages is a favorite lunching option with spacious, picture perfect, tranquil, well manicured gardens and most importantly EXCELLENT SERVICE, the menu is served elegantly, with delicious SURPRICES. Thank you Savages, especially to the attentive owner... for accomodating us without a reservation, you helped make Amber-Sky's Birthday brunch a wonderful memory she will...

What a scrumptious dining experience! The chicken burger and chips meal and Turkish Delight milkshake were delectable. I left feeling satiated. But what really sets this place apart is its outdoor picturesque seating area. The colourful fishes in its chique water feature at the entrance, the green verdant grass, flowers and trees and the general spaciousness made it feel otherworldly. I could forget the bustling traffic and dreary buildings on the other side of its walls. Inside, the management managed to keep the property's nineteenth century feel with its doors, cabinets and floors. There is enough space for everybody. However, the quiche in the quiche and salad meal option was tinier and oilier than we expected. All in all, a very inviting and tranquil place to dine at.

Savages is one of Port Elizabeth" more popular breakfast spots, particularly when the weather is good as there are many tables dotted around the garden. Kids have space to run around and it's walled off so they are protected from the road. It's an attractive space inside too and often used for functions and weddings. The coffee is good and the juice I had wasn't bad, just a bit light on ginger. The menu has some interesting options. The benedict options are good but the shakshuka I had was not great as it was dry and because it had beans in it (which I liked the sound of), it is even drier. The whole point of shakshuka is the sauce. Staff were friendly and efficient. Prices on the higher side. I'd go back but will order differently next time.
