It pains me to write this, but eating here is not a cheap endeavor for most. The evening started with promise, even if the hostess was nowhere to be found and there was no music playing. Something about the USB stick being missing.
The chourico sausage we requested as starters was great, and has a back story that the recipe of the actual sausage is special. The foccaccia was also good. Pizza should be awesome but we didnt try any. The chef comes to your table to cook the sausage. Although it was great artistry, I wondered how they would keep this up once mains service started. We did arrive early and there were not many patrons. Chef Aston was kind and did a good job with the chourico. That's where the good ended unfortunately.
The waiter, Arnold, was okay. Kept forgetting things, got the sides on half of the mains wrong and maybe had too many tables. I'm also not sure the waiter is to blame for the sides or the kitchen got flustered and sent out meals with standard sides. We waited about 45 mins for mains and even the manager came to apologize. I remember telling him we are happy to wait if the food is delicious. It was sadly not!
The fish and chips was sent back, the lamb chops were overcooked to what was ordered, the piri piri chicken needed piri piri and my piri piri prawns was barely edible. I tasted the chicken and it was bland. The prawns too, and the sauce that came with it was dreadfully oily and lacked flavour.
Overall, a dismal food experience even if the meals were cheaper. For the price it felt like a rip off. The fish meal was comped at least. I really wish it was better. Even just mediocre service with good, wholesome food. The owner was present but it did not make a difference.
Lots of things need work here. On the plus side, the champagne...

Read moreRecently checked out the restaurant Artistry & I must say that the restaurant has an amazing vibe, which is always a plus when you're trying to enjoy a day/night out. Additionally, the food is really great, which is obviously an important factor when it comes to a dining experience. Definitely more on the pricer end, however considering the location and the quality of the restaurant it is expected but that being said I didn't have to break the bank for a great meal.
Another highlight of this restaurant is the incredibly friendly staff. Good service can really make or break a meal, and from my experience you'll be in good hands here. Our waitress Nomsa was an absolute delight, really took care of us, had patience for us when we took a bit of time to decide and the kitchen team and her were timely with our meals.
A special shout out must go to the Maître d, she was so accommodating and made us feel so welcome. We were given a tour of the space which was amazing. We also were greeted and had great chats with J Something which was most certainly a highlight.
Finally, the fact that the restaurant has multiple levels which includes a lounge area and a 100 seater theatre is really intriguing. It suggests that there's more to do than just eat, which could make for a really fun night out. Overall, based on my experience, I would definitely recommend checking...
