One of the most disappointing places weâve been to ever. The problems started when our waiter spilled water all over our table and did not as much as acknowledge and did not deal with it- I wiped it all up with a napkin. After we placed and received our starter orders, we thought they were excellent and were excited for more. However, our waiter only took our lunch orders after we had received our starters and the wait time was quite long. Another front of house staff offered to check how long it would be- we never even heard back from him. 15 mins after that we receive our mains. I had ordered the salmon and shrimp pasta, which stated it also had parsley pesto in it, and mine was completely lacking. When we asked the waiter about this he essentially made me feel gaslit and pretended to not know what was on the menu. Another few minutes after we insisted he ask the chef he only told us that the chef would come out to âexplainâ the dish. The chef came out and confessed he had run out of the pesto but I was never informed or told my dish would be changing. The chef offered another âmarinadeâ in place of the pesto after but I declined as I had no clue what would be in it. We were still charged for this dish. Our other food wasnât warm either, but our other party members enjoyed their food a lot. Iâm sure I wouldâve too if mine had been a complete dish. There werenât that many tables booked during this time and we saw the waiter on his cellphone a lot. Overall quite disappointing especially due to the price. I wouldâve wanted to stay for dessert but I felt quite unwelcome and disappointed by the...
Read moreWonderful to see and experience a new foodie business - in one of my favorite hubs in Pretoria. The Milner St precinct is changing fast, and Betty the Butcher has hit it on the head, in great food, service and ambience. Charl's pies are out of this world, in creativity, by combing the best meats and flavors. Lamb and rosemary, Springbok (and, well I forgot! Lol) - but beautiful, with a thinner pastry casing - delicious! I had my 2 border collies with me, and treated them to some wet biltong. Yes, over the top, (and I have never done that before) - but needless to say, their eyes and mouths were begging for more. I wish you much success, (and have already been back to buy from the deli). It's just great to see new energy, and businesses still opening, in what we would recognize as difficult times still. I wish you...
Read moreWe did the restuarant week menu on Sunday for lunch. The positives: staff were friendly, the truffle mash was amazing, and the venue was quaint and relaxed.
The negatives for me, serving salmon that looked brown on the plate is a huge NO, they did not have the pork riblets option as a starter which was a huge disappointment for all, even though it was on the menu. Cleaning the floors while we were still sitting in the restuarant and all I could smell was chemicals....I guess it was one way to get us out lol.
Overall the restaurant was nice, they just need to patch up...
