We have been here twice already. We 'tried' it out twice now and both times have been nothing short of happy tummys. No one left hangry, no one complained.

The first time i had the pleasure of enjoying the prawn curry served with rice and sambals. I dont eat sambals with vinegar so i didn't touch that. I enjoyed my hearty prawn curry and fluffy run through your fingers rice. It was wholesome, fresh, hot and perfectly balanced. It is a tomato based curry so keep that in mind. I enjoyed it even though i dont really enjoy a pungent tomato flavor but i really love this curry.

My mom ordered the Mozambique chicken and her words 'i havent had such a great chicken tikka in a really long time, i quite like this'. I proceeded to order one to take home. This is served with tandoori naan and chips.

We ordered the passionfruit ice, which was not a favourite unfortunately but definately edible.

Today, i got the battered fish and chips, served with tartar sauce and lemon butter. It was ever so slightly oily, very very slightly, but i enjoyed it! Its deep fried so obviously 🙄. Throw the lemon butter over it and you have a winner! I didnt really like the tartar sauce and thats because i dont like condiments!

My mom ordered the piquanté pizza and its a definate winner again! Thin crust, packed toppings, delicious!

My two guests ordered the normal chicken tikka and were both impressed at how succulent and flavourful it was. Its moist but drier then the Mozambique chicken.

I had the delicious pina colada, definately yummier then the passionfruit crush. My mom had a mojito, and our two guests had sprite zero and cola tonic.

We had the beef kebab as a starter which was yum, and the grilled hallaumi.

I took home a prawn curry and butter chicken. Today came out to about R1000. So for about 6 people including starters and drinks.

The previous bill was about R600.

Try it out, i love the wholesome dishes. Its...

Bitter sweet.

Got greeted on entry, requested to sit more to the inside as they had a gas heater there. Today the mall was very cold and the cross ventilation was not where you want to find yourself. The Cafe wasn't full and I'd say at best, 20% occupied. Naturally, other guest would also aim for the warm part of the shop, in our case, there was 3 of us and we sat at a 6-8 seater.

Nefew and sister inlaw ordered the Flapjacks but receieved the smallest flapjacks iv ever seen and considering my sister inlaw is drawn to flap Jack's, we commonly order it.

My food came a little while after, quarter chicken, price is the going rate for the meal, buless than average.

I must say, burgers and pizzas that passed looks amazing.

We became very uncomfortable when a manager went to a newly seated guest and her friend and was told there was a reservation for the inside incluing that table. This happens all around and all the time, but over hearing the managers not so quiltly making comments literally caused me to ask for the bill.

Blaming the guests for choosing the bigger tables and asking staff why they giving 2 guests 4 seater tables. Is it not logic that we looking for warmth and the servers are doing as per the customer's request.

Note to manager, speak to staff in private, besides the confirming the stereo type of bad Indian managers, you lost at least 2 customers that I witnessed...

Cafe Riviera at Killarney Mall never disappoints! On my recent visit, I ordered the Mozambiquen Chicken, and it was absolutely outstanding. The chicken was perfectly marinated, tender, and bursting with authentic flavor that had just the right balance of spice and smokiness. Every bite felt like comfort food with a delicious Mozambican twist.

To go with it, I had their Vanilla Frappe – smooth, creamy, and refreshing. It was the perfect cool contrast to the richness of the chicken, and I’d honestly go back just for that frappe alone!

Although I don’t eat prawns myself, the table next to me ordered them and couldn’t stop complimenting the dish. From the way they raved about it, it’s clearly a customer favorite too.

The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. Cafe Riviera really makes you feel at home while serving food that’s full of flavor and quality.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and friendly service in...

This place is halal. Sanha certificate. It is within the killaney mall. Nice place to share a meal with family or friends. The big game tends to be on. there is lots of assistance. They have desert cake made waiting. Very delicious. The food is good . The salted caramel milkshake had bits of chocolate in which I didn't like. The servings are big. The price is a bit steep. Cheapest item on the menu is a quarter Chicken and chips with naan for R85. Most items are R150 plus. The have specials as well. I had a stacked burger which was big and had interesting combination flavours just felt the salad in the burger misdirected the taste. But still satisfying. Prawns seems to be their speciality but they really have everything. Staff is very kind. They don't take international credit card brands. I suspect just visa and MasterCard. Definitely worth visiting and a repeat visit to try more things from their menu.

Taking its name, most likely from the location roadway (Riviera Road), and housed within the Killarney Mall, Cafe Riviera is an awesome family dining venue. It is a fairly spacious, yet cosy restaurant, and boasts several dining areas, including a semi-private dining space with a large screen TV and aircon, that can be booked for 15-20 persons. The general area has a second TV, great for watching sport. The amiable hosts will gladly re-configure seating for groups. Seating is very comfortable, and there is a gas heater, as well as a pizza oven, keeping the place warm. Also has a cabinet featuring beautiful home-made cakes commissioned regularly from the second place winner of Bake-off South Africa. Meals are Halaal. Cafe Riviera always has prawn and chicken specials, as well as family-sharing specials, great for pre- or post-Movies. Highly recommend.
