Unfortunately not the best experience for my family and I. We usually order take outs from this establishment because we enjoy their pizza. We decided to dine in for the first time this time around. The waitress approached us whilst chewing food and when she asked us what we would like to drink, she would not would not let me know what red wines they offered and had the audacity to ask me what church I go to and that the cook in the back knows my family and IšŸ™„ Sooo unprofessional. We ordered four meals and they made me a veg cannelloni when I had clearly asked for a beef one. They completely left out my sons simple margarita order. The waitress kept saying ā€œsorry my loveā€ as of she knows me personally šŸ™„ She then tried to charge me for a bottle of red when I had asked for a glass. They need to work on their service. All customers must be treated with respect and professionalism no matter their race. The waitress did not pay attention to our table because someone in the back thought they knew us and had preconceived ideas about who we were which then caused her to have an attitude toward our table (sooo exhausting).

The food took so long to come and the orders were so mixed up and her apology was the incredibly insincere. The worst part is that the Siciliano owner was there the entire time but did not pick up on the horrendous unprofessional service his employees render to brown people they think they knowšŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø We lost our appetite and asked that the late mixed up orders be take aways.

We will definitely not be returning, sometimes the food is not worth...

Was very surprised by this quaint little Italian restaurant. It may not seem like much from the outside looking in but once you are settled in and let the mood of the establishment take hold it is a little gem of a restaurant that will leave you with a desire to return very soon. The staff were attentive and friendly, we were never left feeling like they could not attend to our needs. The food was to my liking and seemed authentically Italian, there were no complaints over our main courses at our table of 8. My only gripe was that their desserts didn't exactly match up to the standard of their main meals. Could tell that the cannoli came out of a box rather than being freshly made, but then it was quite clearly in view of the diners in their freezer in the main dining area. I however had no complaints over my choice of the baked cheesecake barring that perhaps it could have come with some fresh fruit or a fruit reduction of sorts to break the richness of the cheesecake, but this is more a preference of mine rather that degrading the quality of the cheesecake itself. I would make the recommendation of maybe booking a table if for a large group of people as it did get rather busy, but then we were there when the Springboks were playing Italy. Overall the experience was fantastic and would gladly come back here to try a different assortment of dishes. Bravo to the Cosa Nostra team in bowling us over or rather "Conquistare il cuore...

Lovely basic restaurant in the heart of Norwood.

If you are hungry and craving Italian food, then stop at the Cosa Nostra in Norwood.

Its not haute cuisine but good old fashioned pizza and pasta.

Atmosphere is warm and welcoming and all members of the staff were very helpful and very friendly.

We had pizza, 2 pasta dishes, salad and a little dessert. The portions were huge - here you will definitely get value for money.

I missed a salad dressing but olive oil and balsamic vinegar were offered and also fine. The only other option was a carrot dressing which I could try - tasted oddly good but wasn’t really an option to put over the salad.

Pizza was delicious with a thin base, pasta wasn’t bad but had some room for improvement: herbs go a long way for example and 2/3 of the cream in the Alfredo would have been enough. The bolognese was a bit sour - to enhance the taste you could use some of the cream of the Alfredo :)

As mentioned before, portions were really big, so we all took take aways - and finished it the next day.

I liked the fact, that it was absolute no problem to change the order around a bit: penne instead of fettuccine, no mushrooms- things like this - was all done with a smile.

I couldn’t possibly have tried a dessert afterwards- but will try next time. Yes, Iā€˜m sure I will be back. Thanks for a...

The restaurant has a very family-like atmosphere, but it is almost so casual that the customer experience is neglected. The restaurant is generally untidy and the tables are not really cleared properly. But the biggest disappointment is probably the food. They have a menu, but you can seemingly order whatever you want. I ordered the mussel pasta- and that’s what I got: mussels that were boiled in water, on top of a mountain of pasta. No seasoning, very little taste. And what made things worse, is that half the mussel water was also poured over the pasta. I generally prefer the family-run type restaurants where you still experience a little bit of personal touch, but in this case I’d probably prefer one of the many other options available around Joburg.

One of our favourite family restaurants , traditional food Sicilian food. Excellent atmosphere , the staff have been with the company for years..high recommend it..ask for the specials, there's always something different. The owner travels back to Italy and always brings back new inspired dishes. Limoncello at the end of your meal is always a highlight for all of us😘 Tell them we sent you
