Hokkaido Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Gauteng

The first time I ordered food here I was very impressed. I got the seafood chao fan and maki roll.

This time, words cannot express my frustration I ordered crispy duck and spring rolls to be delivered. The spring rolls were nice however, rest of the order was not what I expected and I am still not convinced what I received was duck meat. Also there was a different receipt in the bag.

The crispy duck was in shredded form , coated and with sweet 'n sour sauce. I made a couple of calls before I ate the food but there was langu age barrier as well as bad connection. Eventually, I had to eat what was delivered because I had already waited for 50mins to get the food.

I noticed on the menu they have sweet 'n sour duck . Why would the crispy duck be sweet 'n sour again??. I personally do not like sweet 'n sour sauce so, it looks like I am going to have to cook myself a meal still. While I watch my money drown.

I still do not know if I got the wrong order , their advertising is bad or false. What I know is I tried to eat the "crispy duck" and I am not having it. I am very disappointed. Unfortunately, I cannot...

Besides being one of Johannesburg's treasured restaurants and a favourite among Norwood residents, Hokkaido has maintained a quality of service quite known and has the accolades to show.

Their fish is fresh, tasty and very professionally prepared. The menu has stood the test of time with a few new items featuring that introduce a new generation to the delicate traditions of East Asian cuisine.

I would suggest taking some time out on a mid-afternoon when the suburb is starting to get busy and sitting down for a varied selection of their sushi. Their takeaway is as delectable and definitely caters to a crowd if you have many.

My favourite sushi place in Jozi. Incredible sushi partnered with incredible prices! The owners (mama & papa shop) are the friendliest couple you will meet, when you are a loyal customer they greet you by name & have great convo. I like the SO4 platter which includes Sashimi, Nigiri, California Rolls & Maki - you can choose an option of a variety of salmon & tuna. Their drinks are very cheap.
