My opinion is limited to the reception and dining area but This hotel really defines boutique; it's intimate, very classy, excellent service with a smile and the food is exceptionally good. A bit small but I suppose that's part of the boutique experience. Not really very wheel chair friendly. They have WiFi (ask for password at reception). I went to watch a live performance and the music was great and well suited for the hotel atmosphere and ambience. In my opinion the main restroom could use a paint job but it was clean and neat nonetheless. Perfect for business meetings and romantic dinners and stay overs. They have standard cocktails with a few really good signature ones and the wine list is extensive and they have a fully equipped bar.

A real gem! Besides the spectacular atmosphere and scene they have a truly professional staff, almost feel like home. Truly enjoy my visit and would recommended the hotel to anyone either passing through or looking for a unique experience and start to touring Johannesburg. The have an amazing bar selection and even better music Playlist but what topped it all for me was that they recycle! ♻️ Very impressed with Ascot Hotel, will be adding it to my favorite venues & regular spots. #TopNotch 👌🏾

This is a clean and decent hotel that appeared to be set in a neighborhood. No bugs so that was appreciated but the rooms could stand an upgrade. A bar/restaurant is attached but if you sleep early skip this venue. The music goes on until 12 midnight. Staff was friendly and helpful. The shower was too close to the wall for comfort when bathing. Not a lot of room or plugs for electronic devices. Load balancing affected some nights as the electricity would be off.

The Management were pathetic. My check in was horrific due to:||Manager of the hotel (Charmeeze) had an un-friendly ,un-welcoming and problematic attitude. She told me that guests book online for a long stay and then don't end up paying for that stay, but for the period they booked. I told her that I am not one of those guests and will pay upfront for 2 nights at a time as I have done before. She immediately made me feel as though I didn't or was not going to pay, yet I have for the entire stay.||2) The so called owner( Mr Andile under correction as he refused to give his name) and then partner (same man)of the property rudely intervened with an unwarranted statement that guests don't pay and that ends up being his problem. He also mentioned that he set up all the systems for all Tsogo Sun and AHA properties and that they report to him. I opposed his claim as I personally know the heads of Tsogo Sun and Aha being a former hotelier myself. I informed him that there is no need to lie to somebody you don't know in order to boost your self esteem. I don't respect such people being it an owner or not.||3) This was my wife's first stay and my 15 month old son. They were not even greeted, welcomed or my son was not even played with as a baby. That just goes to show their guest services.||4) I was discreetly judged probably due to the way in which I was dressed (shabby) , therefore not taken seriously, but I'm sure if I had a suite on then perhaps I won't have received such disgust and would have looked as though I can afford to pay.||5) After a few days within the stay staff who were good to us, were getting threatened and informed by both these individuals (management)that their jobs are on the line and not to share any...
