This is Democracy, and you get to vote. First order of business, was scanning a QR code, which allows you to view the playlist and cast your vote! This quickly turned into a lot of fun, and we were soon dancing and singing when our songs came on!

We had a variety of bar-food tapas, and the quality was great. Good variety for all and I particularly enjoyed the chicken wings and a very tasty chickpea side salad!

Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and explained the voting concept well.

Democracy Bar is extremely cool. The moody lighting, edgy Neo-futuristic LED accents, and the urban-industrial vibe make the space uniquely Joburg.

The pricing is spot on for the area - which was a refreshing change.

The drinks were a standout, especially the Cader Deployee, which tasted like ginger cookies and was one of the best drinks I've had in Joburg! The chicken schnitzel was unforgettable (I literally still dream about it).

Democracy Bar's innovative concept, giving patrons a say in the experience, is brilliant and will leave a lasting mark in the Joburg nightlife scene.
