News Cafe Cresta — Restaurant in Gauteng

I went to News Cafe Cresta today and I’m not happy with the service. When I got there the waitress just pointed me to a table without giving me a menu or walking me there. After about 20 minutes she came and asked “bakusizile?” in a rude way which made me uncomfortable so I said yes even though I hadn’t been helped. I then called another waiter who was surprised I didn’t have a menu. He helped me and took my order.

I got my cocktail and finished it but no one came to check if I needed something else for another 30 minutes even though the restaurant wasn’t full. I had a really disappointing experience at News Cafe Cresta Mall. The service was terrible from the start — the servers were unfriendly and made us feel like we were bothering them whenever we asked for something. They were completely unwilling to attend to our needs, and instead of making the experience enjoyable, it felt uncomfortable and frustrating.

When we raised our concerns, management didn’t do much to resolve the situation or show any real care about our unhappiness. For a place that’s supposed to pride itself on hospitality, this was a huge letdown. Definitely not the kind of service one expects...

I had a wonderful experience at Newscafe thanks to the outstanding service from my waiter, Jason. From the moment we arrived, Jason was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive without being overbearing. He made excellent recommendations, ensured everything came out just right, and was always nearby when we needed anything. His friendly attitude and professionalism truly elevated our dining experience.
