Hubby and I are regulars at Tn'T at Cresta. We always receive superb service from Delight and ensure that we sit in her serving area every-time. The food used to be of excellent quality as well, which made every visit a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, this has changed recently. On our last visit, I ordered lamb chops, (cooked medium) and received them bloody. I complained and sent them back and received them charred, rendering them inedible. We asked to speak with the manager, he did apologise and removed the chops from the bill. However, he was adamant that the chef is experienced and knows how to cook meat well. We explained that this was not the first time that the food was not cooked according to our specifications and that this seems to be getting progressively worse. However, he again maintained that the chef is superb. Its really sad because this really was one of our favourite restaurants, but even the most amazing service from Delight is not enough to bring us back. A note to the owner as well, please take the time to speak to patrons at the restaurant and find out if the meat has been cooked to their specifications. You will find that I'm not the only person who is not happy. From the other reviews, I see that the owner responds and requests that reviewers leave contact details to discuss issues further, however, please note that I will not be leaving any contact details as I have nothing further to discuss. Your manager made the restaurant's position quite clear on the quality of food...
Read moreThe venue is situated by the mall’s exterior so the outdoor breeze on a summer’s day is delightful. I ordered some water to clear the pallet and have to admit, the San Diamante water they give you makes you feel special, it goes down different. We ordered pork ribs which were expertly done and thoroughly enjoyed. The fish was well done and feeling. All meals came with a side of either mash, chips, rice or veggies.
Now, as for their signature meals, the steaks. The rib-eye and T-bone steaks were both tender, juicy and absolutely loaded with flavor. Ordered both steaks medium to rare and amount of fat was at a minimal. Both came on hot skillet plates so heat was constantly radiating through the meat hence steaks were more savory, and we devoured everything. The side pepper sauce was also exquisite and added more flavor to an already flavorful bovine.
The staff was good and highly vigilant, and, described the menu eloquently. By the way, the ablution facilities were clean, which is something most some restaurants overlook and take for granted. The menu prices were fair and affordable hence I will give the establishment an overall rating of 8.5 out of 10. All in all, I enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend for anyone wanting to enjoy...
Read moreI don’t know how Turn n Tender went from paper-covered windows to THIS. Clearly there was a hive of activity behind that paper. Now this was my first time visiting the franchise, but the upmarket furniture and brand-new menus were good omens. As were the absolutely impeccably-dressed waiters and waitresses (shout out to Themba, our wait, who was friendly and professional) who made me feel under-dressed in my jeans and t-shirt. Did I mention the classy decor? And … yeah. The food was good, but the bill ran up quickly (R 1200 for our table of three). Bar One milkshake, good. Marrowbones, good (albeit served piping hot so they burn your fingers), and lacking the delicious sauce of Rare in Clearwater. Steak … ok. I didn’t go for the most expensive cut, but not the cheapest either, and I felt like it just needed something to lift it (MooMoo has them whipped there). Puddings … maybe not that generous? My bread pudding could be classed “a small nibble”, while the icecream in phyllo pastry was more generous. The chunky personalised after-dinner mints were a highlight just because you get enough cheap mints elsewhere and something quality really stands out. I wish them all the best: what a confident start from a base of a...
