Always enjoy date night in Pretoria...it is an escape from adulting and an opportunity to spend quality time with each other away from the weekly household chores...eating good food from Ostra Mezoneta...fresh and tasty....tapas-style...some dishes such as the tacos, a tiny portion for its price but absolutely delicious...my advise would be to make the taco bigger and keep the filling the same...im contrast the calamari dish seems much more bountiful...tender and crunchy...the succulent prawns are really tasty...smacks of the sea....loved the sardines, although the smell can be a bit overpowering, but enjoyed dipping into the sauce....from the wine list, especially in a week night, you able to pick an affordable bottle....service is friendly and attentive and really adds another layer of pleasantness to the dining experience....you feel the relaxation seep through your bones...lingering over a glass of wine. Oh, and on a Tuesday night they have a sushi special and it must be good as most of the tables around us were tucking into their sushi...was a bit cold for us, but we promised to return for this special as the winter...

The starters were squid which was a tad bit salty for my taste but tasty, fresh, generous portion was very happy

Mains were prawn risotto and steak which was medium as orderd and almost fork tender , wasn't keen on the spring onion "garnish" and sauce , loved the creme fraiche, the risotto was almost 'al dente' but creamy and well seasoned , yummy prawns ! The sides of mushrooms orderd with the steak was oddly sour ,was told it was lemon but was apprehensive to eat more after the first sour mouthful so didn't really get to taste the mushrooms properly
