The Republic ZA — Restaurant in Gauteng

I recently visited Braai republic for a show, and it was an incredibly disappointing experience. The artist only performed two songs and left, which was not worth the hype. To make matters worse, we waited almost an hour and a half for our food.

When the food finally arrived, the waiter informed us that they were out of stock on what we ordered and that we needed to choose something else quickly as the kitchen was closing. While we were deciding, another waiter came to our table saying there was a mistake with our order and asked us to repeat it.

Throughout the evening, our waiter was barely at our table to clean or assist us. We asked for a simple item, and it never arrived.

As a first-time customer, I found the service unacceptable and highly disorganized. I left feeling disappointed and will not be returning...

If I could guve zero stars, I would. It was absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! The food was so expensive, which I would be happy to pay if the food was worth it. But I paid R125 for the worst sandwich of my life. The “steak” they claim is on the bread was just old strips of cutoff meat and it was soooo dry.I even asked the waiter beforehand how much steak they put on the sandwich and he told me its really a lot. There was like 4 mini strips on that very sad, dry bread. Not all the ingredients listed on the menu was even on the sandwich. Incredibly disappointed and I will discourage everyone I know...

Good service and great atmosphere, but the food was disappointing. We paid R125 for a biltong braai broodjie that barely had any biltong on it—definitely not worth the price. The truffle fungi sauce lacked truffle flavor and seasoning and tasted like a basic packet mushroom sauce. The caramelized garlic potatoes were just plain boiled potatoes tossed in heavy garlic butter, with no crispiness or caramelization.
