PRON - People's Republic of Noodles — Restaurant in Gauteng

What an experience! A beautiful, open plan restaurant that looks out onto the bustling street, with these big open windows. It almost feels like you're sitting outside. The waiters are wonderful and endlessly patient with orders and request. We took kids, and everyone was accomadating and friendly. The owner often helps the servers and the customers and, if she ever offers to order for you and keep the small plates coming, say yes! You get to taste a whole selection of small plates and dumplings until you are absolutely stuffed. They complied with the Covid-19 sanitastion procedures and the whole experience was just wonderfully immersive and relaxing. Don't have to worry about anything and there were hardly any leftovers (nice when the food stops coming when people get full, instead of everyone ordering their own starter, main and dessert and having so much excess). The drinks menu has some interesting sake options as well as some other Asian beers and soft drinks for everyone to choose from. Will see us...

I had a fantastic dining experience at PRON last night with my family.

Food and Menu: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The traditional Taiwanese cuisine was very delicious. We enjoyed the following dishes:

Starters: Chicken dumplings and Szechuan honey chicken wings were both flavorful and delicious. Main menu: Fried chicken noodles and Szechuan chilli chicken noodles were outstanding and generously portioned.

Staff:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made us feel at home. Their exceptional service truly made our dining experience unforgettable.They took time to explain the menu to us.

Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The lovely artwork and décor created a warm ambiance. Adding more lighting at night and some background music would enhance the atmosphere.

Price: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The prices were very reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality food and service.

I'll definitely be back at PRON, and I highly recommend it for a great Taiwanese...

In all my time exploring Gauteng, I’ve found that a great restaurant experience comes down to four key things: the food, the design and aesthetic, the vibe, and customer service.

PRON absolutely excels in all of these—especially the customer service. The waiters are incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, ready to answer any question with confidence, which is something you don’t come across often. I was undecided on what to order, and instead of just making a recommendation, the waiter went the extra mile and organised a custom dish for me—noodles in chicken soup with chicken pieces and an egg. It was delicious. Where else can you get that level of service?

And then there’s the owner—an absolute gem! She’s always at the door, warmly greeting customers and building genuine connections. Her energy and friendliness add so much to the overall vibe of the place.
