First bad experience i had was the waiter in the flamingo room with dreadlocks that looks like a model. He did a great job serving us.. we tipped when we were paying. He then told us there is an extra service fee required for sitting by the flamingo side. We paid at the time, but remembered that the lady by the entrance told us we wouldn't be charged. We asked her on our way out why we were charged. She was shocked as the flamingo extra payment had ended for a while now. She called the manager who heard what we said and told us he was wrong for doing that. We showed him who he was: he then proceeds to lie and say we offered to pay.. above and beyond a tip!? We explained again how this wasn't true. The manager looked at us and told us it was wrong... So we asked what she would do about this! She couldn't even look him in the eye and reprimand him and give us back the service charge. [READING THROUGH THE RATINGS AND REALIZING IM NOT THE ONLY ONE CONNED BY A WAITER TO PAY A FEE 'MANAGEMENT' SAYS SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN CHARGED]
Second bad experience was ordering the Pork fillet and Aubergine with chicken. It took suspiciously long to get there. The Aubergine and chicken (my food) arrive dry and cold. The Aubergine was fried for some reason.. The pork arrived unshredded in chunks with a sour sauce. I've had these meals numerous times before: The aubergine and chicken were warm. The pork was shredded with a sweet sauce. I asked our waiter to warm my food because it was ice cold. She took it away and came back with it: the chef told her the dish is served cold...? How is chicken and aubergine a chef just cooked ICE COLD. Why was the aubergine hard and fried? The standards have really dropped with zero...
Read moreMy friends and I had the WORST experience here today. I have never had such a HORRENDOUS dining experience, not at any other restaurant or any other Tashas.
My friends and I were profiled from the moment we entered the restaurant because I guess we weren't dressed “fancy” enough for the hosts. They let us in, but our waiter REFUSED vehemently to serve us, or for us to be seated in his section, and when we were seated in his section anyway, his response was to laugh and ignore us until eventually he came to us and decided to serve us. I don't know if it were because they thought we wouldn't tip. This was wrong because we still did despite the HORRIBLE experience.
Two of my friends ordered milkshakes, and the rest of the table ordered milk-based drinks. The consensus was that the drinks made us all sick, and I, unfortunately, tried one of the milkshakes. Not drank, TRIED. And this made me so sick that I ended up vomiting the moment we got out of the restaurant. The worst part of this was that the staff did not even attempt to help me during this clear moment of distress. And to add salt to injury, while everything was unfolding, we overheard them referring to us as “the ones we did not want to let in”.
All this to say: Tashas, if you decide that some guests do fit your criteria and standards to be allowed and served WITH RESPECT in your establishment, rather not allow them in. Instead of letting them in, profiling them based on their appearance, giving them terrible service and food that has gone off and makes them sick. My worse regret is that I not only went to this restaurant but I tipped for the service. I will not be recommending this pace to anyone...
Read moreSo bad my friend and I where so immensely disappointed. We came in for coffee before business meeting at another restaurant at the same complex at morning side shopping complex.
People praised Tasha's and I had a good option also about them also. Coming in to the restaurant we were greeted by a group of waiters at the door and asked for a table at the corner because we came for a briefing for our meeting. One waiter said please go through you will find a table of your choose at the corner there, we then went through the restaurant looking around.
Since were there for coffee the cakes on display looked appealing . We ordered carrot and chocolate .
The lady water came to us and shot straight can I get you drinks, and I abviously responded hello how are you , yes please two cuppuccino and carrot and chocolate cake please.
The carrot was nice the chocolate too sweet with cheap chocolate used.
The cuppuccino cold and somewhat diluted or something , nothing like simple coffee cup in SANDTON
asked for the hot come and got a fresh cup, but my goodness another bitter mixture....the foam was like thrown or fallen from the sky ...and I am thinking but I am at Tasha's mos...on our way out someone said cheers guys giving us a back before we could respond and we thought ooh yes it must be here and out we went from Tasha's. We will try a direfferent tashsa next time ....not...
